Red
Elevated nose of red cherry fruit and sandalwood. Medium weight that just dances over the palate. Royal Crowne cherry notes. Dark color but balanced and elegant. Sophisticated and nuanced. Very polished and pure.
Red
The nose presented freshly turned soil- not earth, soil. Once I navigated past this I was delighted to find and enjoy a melange of light, bright red fruit- raspberry, red cherry and sweet rhubarb. Medium to lighter bodied, which complimented the array of red fruit. More complex and interesting than anticipated.
White
Great summer sipper with an array of varietals, including Muscat, Gewurtztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. Each one steps to center stage during the drinking experience. The Muscat has a subdued sweet element that leads into the lychee distinction of the Gewurtz and then finishes with a grassy and herbal note from the SB. Nice acidity throughout and entertaining and distinctive.
Red
Very nice Kanzler vineyard Pinot by Kosta Browne. Smooth and silky mouthfeel with a melange of dark and red fruit. Nice structure and length. Drinking beautifully and still has long road ahead.
Red
Just got a taste of this. I have to get off the painkillers after surgery because my spouse is going through our Pinot like a hot knife through butter!
White
My wife drank the lion’s share of this as I am recovering from surgery, and she raved about it. I secured a small glass and had to agree with her on how delicious this was. Great nose of white flowers and crushed stone. Delicate orchard fruits throughout. The body is cloud-like, almost reminding me of some of the Hudson high-end Chardonnays in weight and delicacy. Some tropical notes and very moderate acidity, just enough to give it a perfect lift. Interestingly it had a touch of oak that came through on the back end, for seemingly a moment. Really gorgeous wine with a certain elegance.
Red
This wine is the ultimate motivation. Having gone through knee replacement surgery a week ago and having pain medication to support recovery was going well… until my lovely spouse popped this open to enjoy in front of me. End result is already tapering on pain meds, no chance of addictive behavior, just want my PT back. (Pinot Therapy)

This has finally come into its own and is drinking very nicely at this point in time. Some tropical notes emerged after not finding these in the last few bottles of this wine. Harmonious and delicious from start to finish. Solid acidity but not overly bright. Nice golden yellow hue.
Red
I had recently enjoyed the Chardonnay sister of this Martinelli Pinot and wanted to track down some more in addition to my initial purchase. Similarly this Pinot offered a wonderful flavor profile with red berry, cherry and raspberry notes. Easy to drink and enjoy. Good complexity and lovely delivery.
Red
Drank this after a spectacular Pinot that was very nuanced, which created a more linear experience with this wine. It still presented great fruit and underlying spiciness, but did not seem as explosive as the prior bottle I enjoyed. Still a very solid and enjoyable blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot intertwining to present a great drinking experience.
Red
Fantastic Pinot from Argot and the Kanzler vineyard. Great depth of flavor and compelling aromatics. Dark red fruit with Bing cherry, earthy components, and red berries. Continued to evolve in the glass and presented a very unique drinking experience. Polished and wonderful mouthfeel. Love this Pinot!
Red
Deep purple in color and very dark. Rich and hedonistic but with outstanding structure and weight. Not overpowering, rather in balance and very approachable. Great QPR of what is in the glass. Performs above the price point. Great food wine as well. Grilled meats and BBQ pairing.

A fun little bottle for crowds of people that may not take wine too seriously or are on the road to an evolving palate. This is smooth, has ripeness and yes, it is dark...very dark. Nice blend that pairs well with grilled meat or easily to drink on its own. In our group, many people enjoyed this, but are not regular wine drinkers. Although they like to slurp down my more expensive Pinot when I bring that to share!
Red
Every time I pop one of these I find myself really enjoying them. Nice depth of fruit with perfect earthiness. Nice ripe flavors that are balanced by the other characteristics of the wine. Beautiful mouthfeel and palate attack. Lush without being over extracted or clumsy. I was finally motivated to reach out direct to the winery's site and explore some of their other Pinot offerings.

Red
Solid red fruit profile. A bit of cherry pit and tart cherry elements. Also some herbaceous qualities in the background. Not undesirable but integrated in the overall flavor profile of the wine. It continued to smooth out with time in the glass. Very nice and solid QPR for what's in the bottle. It may gain more depth and weight with additional time, but did not seem to be drinking too young at this point.
Red
Medium-bodied with cherry notes. Nice mouthfeel and nice flavor profile. Not overly complex but clearly quality fruit and well made. Leans to a more elegant style compared to other Gap's Crown Pinots I have had. Solid throughout.

A bit tart and a bit acidic. Citrus flavors give this an edge and notable oak. Stayed consistent throughout the bottle and never seemed to open up further. Fruit seemed a bit constrained.
Red
Solid Pinot and one of my favorites in the Papapietro Perry line-up. Solid red fruit with nice depth and flavor. Gains some weight as it opens up and gives it a bit extra. Fairly straightforward but very enjoyable.
Red
Just a stellar Pinot from a great producer, fantastic vineyard, and celebrated vintage. Wonderful red and dark fruit intertwined on a beautiful delivery. The weight, texture and mouthfeel all in harmony and exceptional. Still fresh and lively and easily could go more years. Drinking superbly now though.
Red
Great barrel selection from Wren Hop. Hedonistic dark fruit with depth and nice weight. Blackberries, black plum and spice notes. Multi-dimensional as it unfolds in the glass. Some boysenberry notes as well. Very long finish. Palate pleasing.
Red
Solid appellation offering showing juicy, high-quality fruit from the RRV. Youthful and vibrant. Great mouthfeel and is fruit-forward and fresh. A bit less nuanced than their single-vineyard Pinots, but high on the yumminess scale. Great drinker for every day.
Red
Easy drinking Pinot Noir from Argot. Performs well above price point in delivering fresh and delicious fruit. Great mouthfeel and enjoyable from start to finish. Red fruit, primarily cherry notes. Good balance and weight. Very, very good.

A nice budget conscious daily drinker. Good dark fruit profile. A little thin but great flavor and ripeness and nice to enjoy on its own or with food. Have it with a burger or steak and you will be happy.
White
A wonderful Chardonnay with great acidity and verve. As it warms, it rounds out and presents a more interesting and inviting experience. Great flavor profile that expands and delivers an amazing bottle of wine.
White
Martinelli makes great Pinots and great Zinfandels but this is proof they make incredible Chardonnays as well. This has great balance and ripeness with good mouthfeel and acidity. I found the flavor profile delightful and wanted to return to my glass time and time again. I don’t often chase additional bottles of a wine but I am pursuing this offering.

Red
Continues to be a favorite Pinot as this presents great fruit with earthiness and a great mouthfeel. Red cherry core and nice bit of ripeness in the fruit. Integrated yet smooth and fresh. Always a winner in my household.
Red
A gorgeous Pinot Noir from Cattleya and Bibiana. Soft and supple red fruit with no rough edges at all. Fantastic attack with depth of flavor but a soft, round approach. The fruit is fresh with a bit of ripeness. Still is drinking fairly youthful. Elegant and flavor-filled at the same time. Great bottle of wine.
Red
A beautiful appellation wine from Three Sticks bursting with RRV juicy goodness. Blackberry and blue fruit with great mouthfeel and delivery. Nice richness but well integrated and balanced as well. A great example of why this region is one of my favorite sources of Pinot Noir.
Red
2021 Caymus-Suisun The Walking Fool Suisun Valley Zinfandel Blend, Zinfandel (view label images)
An enjoyable budget red blend with nice flavor and approach. Performs above its price point with nice depth and rich flavor profile. Enjoyable without taking itself too seriously. Love the ripe, dark delivery.
Red
Great crowd pleaser as my small group made this disappear quickly. Nice cherry core with a note of earthiness. Great mouthfeel and smooth from beginning to end. Great QPR and a wonderful choice for a daily drinker.
Red
I really enjoy this Syrah from Argot. Deep, dark purple in color. Palate coating and rich flavors. Tears on the glass as this delivers a great QPR and an excellent drinking experience. Blackberry and black raspberry with a touch of oak. Fruit is fresh with enough acidity to keep it lively. Delivers above its price point.
White
Beautiful wine from Shared Notes that is coming in to its own. Great texture and mouthfeel. The Sauvignon Blanc and the Semillon play off each other nicely. Soft orchard fruit with some floral notes. Smooth entry and attack on the palate. This is supposed to lay down for a long time but I can never keep my hands off it.
White
I always enjoy this offering from Liquid Farm as it is always lively with bracing acidity. This was similar in nature at inception, but as it warmed it took on a much more mellow and round delivery. Delivers great QPR and fun to drink any night of the week.

This presented lemon zest with a bit of an initial tart delivery. it seemed to be missing some of the roundness typical in Gap's Crown wines and was a bit reticent and tight. With time it did unfold a bit and loosen up. Citrus continued to predominate the flavor profile throughout. Not a disappointment, but was looking for a bit more. Still nothing wrong in the glass here, very good overall.
White
Great offering that is hitting on all cylinders currently. Beutiful golden color with great nose of citrus, crushed rock and some floral notes. Palate is beautiful and smooth with excellent mouthfeel and delivers a superb drinking experience. Let it warm in the glass to truly unfold and deliver optimum results. Elegant but full of flavor.
Red
Maybe the best of these that I have enjoyed to date. Lovely red cherry core with a silky, smooth delivery. Bright red fruit with medium weight that presents an elegant wine. Balanced and integrated and drinking beautifully at this point. Plenty of road ahead as well. This one does demonstrate a premium experience compared to their normal line-up, but still not light years better.

Nice easy drinking red blend. Medium weight with ripe, dark fruit. Not bad for a sub $20 bottle. Would pair well with a NY Strip or Ribeye. Purplish rim.
Red
Dark, purple and ink-colored. Great appearance in the glass. Black plum, blackberries and sandalwood flavors. Great depth of flavor and a solid QPR. Delicious and paired fantastic with a bit of Black Forest cake. Chocolate flavors of both played off each other nicely. Solid and yummy.
Red
Nice appellation offering from Martinelli. Juicy red fruit with distinctive RRV flavor profile. A bit fuller bodied and juicier than most of their single vineyard offerings. It feature red berries, cherry notes and not a lot of oak. Enjoyable now and don't think it will evolve into something discernably different. May integrate a bit more but this seemed harmonious and provided a very nice drinking experience.
Red
Great Pinot with a very high QPR. Nice red cherry core with a touch of earthiness. Nice approach on the palate and delicious mouthfeel. Very approachable and is on par with a number of more expensive, single vineyard offerings. Easy to enjoy.
White
After some elegant Chardonnay in the evening this was a horse of a different color - bright gold and shimmering in the glass. Ripe golden delicious apples with subtle touch of oak. Presents juicy, flavor-filled palate attack. No sharp edges at all with moderate acidity that kept it bright. Very flavorful.
White
Beautiful Chardonnay from Three Sticks. Medium yellow in color and medium weight. Nice viscosity and evokes purity in the glass. Elevated tropical notes plus good acidity to keep this bright and crisp. Becomes a bit more round as it warmed in the glass. A bit of saline and white rock. Still very precise in a good way. Reminded me a bit of the higher end Hudson Chardonnays like Seashell and Ladybug, and that is high praise.

Good start to a wine filled evening. This provided a nice drinking experience. Moderate acidity and pale yellow in color. Oak has integrated a bit more and has allowed the orchard fruit and the subtleties to emerge. A bit of ginger and some almond. Solid value.
White
A bit more delicate and nuanced compared to prior vintages that seemed a bit more robust and complex. This reminds me of Hudson's high end Chardonnays, Little Bit and Seashell in appearance and flavor profile. A bit more feminine and lighter in body. Definitely not a criticism, rather just an observation. A bit less oak influence as well. Really gorgeous from beginning to end, lifted and lively with perfect acidity.
Red
Gorgeous 4 barrel selection from Wren Hop. Purple and violet in color. Presents a bit of potpourri and spice on the nose. Great body and depth. Hedonistic but not over extracted or out of balance. Mulberry and boysenberry flavors. Drinking nicely now but still has plenty in the tank.
Red
Just a beautiful wine, deep purple in color and shimmering with viscosity and depth. Ripe blackberry notes with fine tannins. Outrageously good mouthfeel and nice length on the back end. Nice oak notes. Matched a prime NY Strip and wedge salad perfectly. Gorgeous Cab and Merlot blend.

Deep and dark purple in color. A bit of initial heat on the nose. Blackberry, sandalwood, purple plum flavors on the palate. Great depth and rich, hedonistic delivery. Wonderful mouthfeel and lasting finish. A truly delicious wine.
White
So smooth and silky. Cloudy yellow with beautiful lifted fruit. No evident oak and tropical flavors. No hard edges on this. Light and airy. Medium to lighter weight. So delicious and enjoyable Bosch pear flavors with tangerine skin. Slight grapefruit lift at the end. Lovely balance and integration. Not overly acidic. Feminine and beautiful.

2015 Bevan Cellars Ontogeny Napa Valley Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Popped this open on Valentine’s Day to enjoy with my wife. It was a gift from one of my very best friends in the world and I have held it for a special occasion. Today is the day. This was an effort to get into as the cork ripped in half and the started to crumble. I was able to extract it and strained and decanted for about an hour. Rich notes of purple plum, boysenberry and subtle spice box. Ripe mulberry notes with great depth and a long finish. Rich and hedonistic as Bevan is known for. Very good, but I would recommend drinking in the near term. It made for a great compliment to an enjoyable evening.

Red
A nice red for Valentine’s Day eve. Nose had a bit more heat than I remember with a bit of a dusty element. Nice color in the glass. Primary notes of cherry. Seemed a bit more straightforward than some previous bottles I have consumed. Not the previous earthiness I had enjoyed. Still drinking extremely nicely.
