Bright, high acid, some stemmy notes. Decent grip and a pleasant bitterness, if you’re into that kind of thing. Not for everybody. Tannic but ready to go. Works for me.

Perfectly respectable varietal expression. No need to hunt down but fine to grab if nothing else is jumping out at you

Not very well knit together at the moment. Tannic sharpness retracts the tastebuds, and green, stem-y notes are pronounced; cranberry tartness then dominates, awkwardly counterbalanced by oak from left field. Too bad.

Sweet, cherry, cola notes with a respectable dryness. Great QPR everyday pizza and tomato based accompaniment.

Slight herbal, stemmy aspect but also very fine and long. Seems a bit hot but it morphs into a glycerin finish. Begs for some unctuous bolognese to cut through. Good stuff.

This is just ok. Decent, true to the varietal and region but just lacks anything to make it noteworthy. You can do worse for $15, but you can also do better. Decidely bitter on the finish - green? Each sip promises a little something but doesn’t quite deliver.

Well this is absolutely delicious. Honeyed, with a tinge of almond bitterness and lemony unctuous quality that is just superb. Perfect foil to linguine alla vongole and grilled Caledonian shrimp. Thanks to one of the young wine guns at Eataly. 🙌🏼

Nice table wine but nothing to note. Cola and a hint of black cherry, some softness around the edges. Pleasant but innocuous and without much distinction.

Quite sweet and candied, with an effervescent spritz that I would not call appealing at all. Has some funk and a little earthiness, which is becoming, but it's really dominated by a Lifesaver-like candied quality that isn't good -- neither by itself and certainly not with any food I can think of. I mean, maybe with something very gamey that needed a sweetness as counterbalance, some venison or elk or the like, but even then it would only be for the few.

Very nice. Clean and pure. Strikingly clear juice, with virtually no color. Bright, white acacia, mild lemon, refreshing with a hint of honey. Unctuous and clean at the same time, a tad sweet. Very complimentary custard tang at the finish.

Warm, rich and clean if that’s not a contradiction. It’s got all the right notes, if perhaps a bit hot and bothered, and that’s the problem - for me - with California/Napa expressions, they’re just too flamboyant and louche. There’s just a saucy desperation — too much make-up and cleavage — that’s a great come-on at first but ends being a bit grotesque finally. It’s really terrific - very good, truly - but I just like stuff with a lighter touch and a slower reveal. Good on ya!

Quite rich. Sharp and tangy, pronunced lemon-lime cream pie, with quinine-grapefruit notes rounding out the rear. A bit full-throttled to me, not exactly nuanced. But if you like sucking a lemon, you’re in luck.

Jammy leather. VERY jammy leather. Over-the-top, super sweet, absurd Napa fruit bomb. Should be sold as a concentrate that you reduce 2-to-1 with water. Even if you like this kind of thing, it's wildly over-priced; I defy anyone to pick this out of a crowd of Napa or even Paso jam fruit bombs at a fifth the price. One man's ceiling is another man's floor. In vino veritas.

Cassis, cranberry and restraint are at play, with some garrigue and a little thyme and mild warmth at the finish. Nothing too over-the-top, so refreshingly moderate for southern Rhône. A tiny bit of green steminess mars the finish.

A bit sharp and choppy and curiously watery at the same time. Not knit together in a pleasing way. It’ll do with seafood and the like but easy to do much better.

Lemon, honeysuckle and food-friendly acidity in a wonderful balance that complimented spaghetti nerano and would equally enhance pesto, or fish dishes. Perhaps a tad “sweet” but overall a simple, lovely, friendly wine.
