Early phase, but starting to open up. This has a lot of potential! Excellent fruit material. I think this will evolve nicely – but patient is required. Very elegant and classy!

1/15/24, 6:03 AM - @Decanting Queen: It was decanted for 2–3 h before dinner. CV´s Riserva is probably among the most long-lived wines produced in Chianti Classico. I tasted some old vintages a few years ago when visiting the producer – 1985 and 1996 among others – and they were all amazing and in good shape.

Typical PN fruit, medium body, and some depth. Not a thrilling wine, but OK. Hoped for more though.

Very balanced and elegant, this beauty is in a prime drinking window now. Smooth and deep fruit, integrated oak, and sandy tannins in the finish. Not spectacular, but a very sophisticated and harmonious version of this standard cuvée from Janasse. 93+

A bit disappointing. Fresh appearance, but a bit thin on the fruit components. Lacking depth and complexity. Expected more – odd bottle? 89?

10/27/19, 4:46 PM - Maybe...but I did not find the material in the wine to be very exciting. Hope that time will prove me wrong. Btw, usually one of my favourite producers of affordable Barbarescos....

Really elegant and typical right bank claret. A bit closed to start with, but over time it showed nice features of dark cassis fruit, tobacco, leather and a lingering, refreshing and elegant finish. Too bad this was the last bottle. 92 for now, but with potential for a higher score.
