Dark in color, rich purple with blackberry currant and licorice. Loved it. Have 2 more left 10+ years I think.

1983 Château Lascombes Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

this bottle was a journey.

opened at 620pm. tasted thin, old and dead. not corked, but watery. bricking and bland.

at 8pm, some fruit showed up and has the color turned a little purple with some floral notes.

at 945pm - medium bodied, fruity, with nice tannins, blueberry and granite notes.

just took the last sip at 10:15pm. a very nice bordeaux.

well done.

Decanted for 2 hours. Pronounced rich, lush, mildly sweet blueberries with a strong nose of vanilla. Deeply concentrated. Velvety, elegant mouthfeel with beautifully balanced tannins. Rich and opulent. In a great drinking window now but could easily go another 5+ years.

over the hill. nose was initially excellent as was fiest taste. carmel, tobacco and blackberry. after about 1 hour it turned thin and sharp. too bad.
