Gorgeous wine that is brimming with black cherry and plum fruit that gains lots of complexity from the expresso, dried herbs and spice secondary notes. Just entering maturity now, this should provide great drinking for another decade at least. Medium/full body with polished tannin this has a tremendous mouthfeel: full and round without being heavy. We have drank Beaucastel going back to the 1998 vintage and this is their best effort yet. www.advinetures.ca

If Darth Vader drank wine, he would drink this.

I dont think I have ever drunk a wine that is so obviously far too young as this one. This is primary to the point of being mouth puckering - the tannins and structure are still forming, never mind resolving - this is still in the pre-Jurassic-era in terms of development of the wine. Huuuuuuge wall of tannins, black olives, salt, bitter chunky fruit - big oak, big nose, big ooompf. But then......a glimmer of light - cherries ........ dancing across the nose - woompft, blackness again, then olives, then mint then campfour then beef, soy, back to tannins again, coffee, more coffee, chocolate, iron. Sour and salty finish - a strange balance of big nose, smooth entry, salty finish with puckering tannins. Is it good? In 10 years it will be amazing - right now it resembles the earth's core about 2 billion years ago. Give. Me. More.

Pleasant but unremarkable. Mid palate tannins but sour diagonal offshoots like little storm troopers straying from the otherwise dry feel. After 2 hours the sharp Troopers go into hiding and a dryer slightly furryer ewokiness is prevalent.

Dark red with slight fade at rim. Black currants and bumbleberry pie on the nose with hints of menthol and vanilla. Full body delivers a palate that is powerful and long with a streak of acidity on the finish that ends with a slightly tart note. Bigger in style but balanced, quite Napa in style. www.advinetures.ca

9/6/15, 8:40 AM - Hi Chatters, I would say this wine is at peak and has the structure to stay there for another 5 years. I would be getting ready to open any other bottles...I just wish that I had some more! Cheers!

Excellent Value, Parker rated 93 this is not.
They must have given him the old vines, reserve cuvee, single vineyard, south facing slope, picked by Romanian virgins in its place.

Fresh, high tones, alcohol, black olive pits, hints of something deeper, earth, red fruit peeking through. On the palate, light medium bodied, goes down like water. Short finish, no noticeable tannins or grip, Balanced, fruit and acidity, fresh figs, green herbs, red apple skins. You’ll think me crazy but, Chill this wine down to 55-60 and serve, so much more enjoyable as this temp showcases the fruit. Drinking window now, no reason to wait on this one… Na zdrowie

Light gold. Gorgeous Burgundian nose, smoke, brown butter, lemon, a hint of sulphur with a note of lime and white flowers. Delicious smokey lemon flavours and a long dry slightly creamy finish.
