Was pretty light... some fruit when first opened & poured but faded quickly.

Only two barrels were made. Harvested in close proximity to a strand of eucalyptus trees, this fruit was thus dusted with resin from the trees, imparting a brisk, minty character to the wine. Randy Dunn and Jayson Pahlmeyer decided that this wine was such a different lot to the other blend that they decided to keep it separate. This is the first and only vintage of this wine since the eucalyptus trees no longer exist on the property.

Was very enjoyable, nice dark fruit, inky, smooth, surprised me how well it's aged... Drink up.

What a great wine, amazingly alive after all these years. This note is not contemporary but I recall some subtle raspberry on the pallet and quite light in color with red/orange on the rim.

I didn’t think it was that good. Very good nose but kind of transparent for my taste.

Somewhat acidic when first opened (needs more time) after about an hour it started to become more aproachable and had a more even balance.

Good, ready to drink now, fruity, little acid and very light tannins.

Nice fruit (berries), sort of grassy/hemp maybe stemmy?, not really a big wine, mild, little acid and slight tannin.

Better than the first bottle, smother, not as harsh as I remember, not quite the ’96 but it’s ok.

Now I’m confused. I think I’m tasting acids but maybe it’s a lack of acid and too much tannin (unbalanced)? I guess I should give this one another try. Maybe a couple more bottles and wait several years, Parker seems to really like this one...

1999 Cotes du Rone Coudoulet offer aromas of blackberry/cassis fruit infused with licorice, medium to full body, and more noticeable Mouvedre (leather, tree bark, and spice notes). This supple 1999 is a candidate for 10-15 years of cellaring. RP/138 p.3
