Great example of this varietal. More Rhone styled compared to other Washington Mourvèdres. Bright red fruit, nice spice and pepper on the mid palate. Balanced and juicy.

Popped and poured. Surprisingly still full of fruit. Very soft tannins, nice secondary flavors of light tobacco and spice. Medium long finish. I'd guess still has a couple of years left in it.

Big wine. A bit unbalanced at this time. Lots of fruit up front, round tannins and a bit too boozy. Will try again in 6 months.

Scored 2nd place among 6 Barberas. Three American and three Italian wines in the group. Bright red fruits still there with tobacco and floral notes as well. Great length on the finish and nicely balanced.

Drinking beautifully right now. Nice dark violet in color. Plum and black fruits along with hints of spice. Medium to full bodied, very balanced with a long finish.

Juicy red fruit with very smooth tannins make this an easy drinking wine. A pop n pour affair and equally good alone or with food.

Deep, dark violet in color. The nose shows black fruits with a hint of spice. Silky smooth tannins and medium plus finish make this a great, easy drinker. Paired very well with some grilled rib eyes! Hard to imagine this will drink better than it is now!

- Violet color - Definitely needed some air to really open up. Dark fruit with some funk and stone on the palate. Surprisingly light and graceful for as deep purple the color was. Nice long, smooth finish. This was my only bottle, bit anxious to taste the '10.

Popped and poured. Good dark fruit and decent acidity, but rough on the mid palate and finish. I'll try again tomorrow to see if it calms down.

Enjoyed this with Italian fare. Medium- full bodied with ripe red fruit. Nice acidity made it go very well with our dinner. Easy drinker and drinking great right now. Solid QPR

Amazingly well balanced and integrated for its youth. Black fruits dominate the nose with a touch of smoke. Full body on the palate with smooth tannins show the fruit, espresso and a bit of minerality. All this in a basically pop and pour situation as be brought it to dinner at a restaurant for out of town guests. John Abbottt has done it again!

Perhaps just past it's peak, but still a decent Napa Cab. Good fruit still on the nose and palate, medium finish. Decent QPR

Seepage over halfway up the cork signaled trouble. Showed obvious signs of oxidation. Flat nose and acetone on the finish. Dumped.

This Cab Franc adds a bit of Merlot and Cab for a very pleasurable wine. Black and blue fruit along with anise and some pepper adds a note of spice. Smooth, long finish.

Slightly more fruit forward than many other Walla Walla Syrahs. Notes of black fruit with black pepper. Solid structure and well balanced.
