I wish I'd bought more of these. This is a wine for the Oregon Pinot purist. Ripe red and black cherries with some raspberry bramble and cranberry, and deeply complex forest floor aromas of dirt, bogwood, and mushroom. A mouthful of earth and ripe, sour fruit engorge the palate with seamless balance and a clean finish. This is one of those wines you can glance at in your cellar from time to time and take comfort in sliding it back in the shelf.

Gorgeous color and overall package. Raspberry, bright cherry and muskmelon notes with some floral complexity on the nose. This is off-dry in style but the acidity brilliantly cuts through the RS, giving it great balance and lift through the finish. It's a well made and delicious wine but doesn't quite deliver in complexity at the price, although that's not to say that it's outrageously over priced. It's totally enjoyable.

An eclectic mix of black cherries, raspberry bramble, deep red apple skins, and a bit of plum stand out on the nose. This is different from my previous experiences with this bottling. More primary fruit and forward but still expressive in its complexity. Balance is there on the palate in that there's a harmony between the tannin and acidity. Dark fruit flavors and spice persist through the finish. This is an exceptional wine although I do prefer it in lighter vintages. First tasted this at the Red Barn tasting room on release and remember thinking it was far from ready to drink. This little bit of time has softened it some, and it is drinking well now, though further aging would be beneficial.

Dark cherry, cranberry, currant, raisins and baking spice with rich earth make up the nose. Balanced mouth feel with high acidity on the palate. Pure Oregon Pinot noir.

I really enjoyed this. Dark fruits with some licorice and savory complexity on the nose. Balanced and fresh on the palate with lingering acidity. 14.5% alcohol flies under the radar.

Nice copper/coral color - not pink. Looks awesome. Aromatics are not letting me down. Old world style, good fruit but not too forward. Dried stone fruits with some herbal tea, juniper bark and subtle spice. There's a floral character that provides a sense of freshness. Bone dry, subtle and smooth on the palate. Good acidity without being tart. Nice freshness in fruit flavors with a toasted character giving it a sense of body. I am used to drinking pink NW Pinot rose', so this is changing gears a bit. This is not a Sunday afternoon on the porch rose'. This is a Sunday night, pair me with a thoughtful dinner rose'. Really great achievement here. I'm generally not a fan of grenache.

The nose sort of reminds me of a tropical fruit trail mix blend – dried pineapple, banana chips and salt with slight nuttiness, also expressing a bit of lemon curd with some drift wood funk and a touch of barrel toast. Great complexity on the nose. The palate is a bit round with some creaminess to it, but is balanced with cutting acidity the propels the finish to considerable length. This would be phenomenal with any type of grilled seafood.

Pretty good wine here. Crisp apples, pears, and subtle white peach and mineral on the nose. Clean and lean on the palate, crisp fruit notes, minerality, and focused acidity. Not the most complex wine, but what it does, it does very well. Excellent QPR.

Green apples, salted limes, stems and a touch of herbs on the nose. Green skinned fruits and spice on the palate with high acidity. Should hold up for a long time. I'm digging it.

There's a thin veil of that earthy, Cameron terroir funk covering layers of bright red fruits, dried herbs, rose petals and spice on the nose. Inititally there's a sense of delicacy to it on the palate, and then you get some of the full Nebbiolo tannin structure through the finish. Very good wine.

Simple yet pleasing on the nose. Ripe apple, limes, dill, petrol. Smells like a German Riesling, especially after following the Oregon Riesling tasted before it. Falls a little flat for me on the palate. Lacking acidity and vibrancy I would have expected. Easy to drink, nonetheless.

Gorgeous red fruit profile on the nose, somewhat restrained, but with a delicacy and purity that I find intoxicating. Along with the fruit I'm getting some secondary notes of pencil shavings and waxy aromas that remind me of Crayola crayons. I don't care if that doesn't sound "sexy". That's what it smells like, and I like it. The wine is balanced on the palate, with spicy red fruit flavors, and a balanced acid and tannin structure that lends to its ageability. I can't wait to taste the "whole cluster" version.

OROPEZA nailed it with the lemon candy note. There's some good complexity here that keeps my nose in the glass. Ripe fruits across the citrus to stone fruit spectrum, white flowers, and something yeasty in the background like foam on an IPA. Nice balance between richness and acidity on the palate. There is some RS on the palate that throws me off, not to say it's unpleasant, but it would leave me stunned to guess if blinded. It's kind of a weird wine, but delicious, and fun to drink.

Purchased at Binny's in Chicago (on Halstead). Probably the most 'ready to drink' of the Naga's that I've had in the past. The 2011 seemed to have much more muscle if memory serves. This is more of a well balanced, and dare I say elegant wine. Sangiovese stands out in the blend. Cherries, dusty red bramble, dried roses, and very subtle oak make up the nose for me. The wine is exceptionally balanced with higher acidity rising above a soft, silky tannin structure. It's drinking very well now and should cellar well.

This is a good, medium bodied Cab with dark red fruits, cigar, and hints of eucalyptus on the nose. Fruit and tobacco flavors translate well to the palate with pleasing acidity and tannin that turns slightly abrasive in the finish, but stays balanced. Excellent value. I prefer this light, yet structured style of Cab.

Gorgeous complexity on the nose. Forward yet subtle, offering ripe strawberries and bright red cherries with candied roses, baking spices, and classic red hills earthiness. Easy drinking on the palate with juicy, ripe red fruit flavors, streamlined acidity and lightly fuzzy tannin. I love that it's still youthful yet drinking so well right now.

Enticing fruit aromas on the nose with green apples, white peaches, and salted limes. The petrol thing is there, but barely. Very good sense of richness in fruit on the palate for a dry style, and brilliant acidity to boot. I really enjoyed this.

Good sense of Oregon terroir on the nose, offering black cherries, churned earth and truffle with a citrus note of orange rind and a melange of baking spices. These notes and more on the palate, adding a bit of cola and cocoa powder with more sips. The wine is balanced and fairly ripe for the vintage at 13.7% alc. Excellent QPR and unbelievable steal at $15.

Campfire thing is still there, still primary. Fruit is kind of hollowed out leaving mostly earthy, smokey notes of smoked meat and tobacco. There are some cherry and ripe blackberry notes, maybe dark raspberry, but mostly earth and spice with a real gamey quality to it. It's distinctly Oregon, but having the least crowd pleasing traits, I suppose. Still, I dig it and would happily drink again.

Spice and musk on the nose with fruit notes of red apples, ruby red grapefruit and hints of barely ripe strawberries. Slight RS on the palate with a really good backbone of acidity. It finishes long with good fruit flavors and spice, and there's a slight tannic feel to it in the back end. Really weird and complex wine with a cool label. Will look forward to future vintages.

Good complexity on the nose. Black cherries and raisins with dried flowers, herbs, and dark earth tones. The mouth feel is lush with dark fruit flavors, earth and spice. The wine is well balanced with delicious flavors, good acidity and some velvety tannin coming in late. It's an exceptional wine but probably not a good value if you're not someone who appreciates its origins, small production, novelty, etc. I dig it though.

Really great complexity on the nose - salted muskmelon, ripe apple, and hints of pineapple with herbs and oak spice. The fruit flavors translate nicely to the palate with subtle richness and blanketing acidity. Lots of spice notes cropping up in the finish. This was awesome with seafood alfredo.

Nose is expressing more definitive Pinot noir fruit this time, more baked cherry and brown sugar notes, but still having the dark fruit tones and tobacco notes with earth and spice. Seems to have settled down a bit on the palate as well. Still structured but drinking better than it was on release. Still a big, heavy Pinot noir, especially for Oregon. It's drinking well enough for me now, and I like where it's going.

Stewed cherries, nutmeg, earth, smoke, and heavy mushroom. Snappy, Gamay-like character on the palate, like a lot of 2013 OPN's. Really good complexity overall. The aromatics remind me of the 2010 Cameron Pinots.

Pale red in the glass, expressive of the vintage. Pretty nose of high toned red fruits and dusty red hills earth. Sweet red fruit flavors and medium weight on the palate with high acidity and gentle tannin structure. Good QPR and a fine representation of Dundee Hills terroir in a lighter vintage.

This reminds me a lot of the 2013 "Rhinestones" bottling from Bow & Arrow, also sourced at least in part from Johan Vyd. Cherries, tart strawberry, cedar, smoke, dried roses, pine forest floor, and subtle crimini mushroom. The palate is all ripe red fruit flavors, very pleasing acidity, and tannin that slides right along. Pretty easy drinking overall with great acid. Crushing it at $18.

I opened this last night with the intention of drinking it, but it ended up sitting on the counter until now. Open about 30 hours: The wine has deep color and concentration for the vintage. Aromas are pure dark cherry, evergreen, cigar ash, cloves and vanilla. Remarkable structure on the palate. The tannin is rich with a velvet texture, but not overdone. It's balanced with taut acidity and firms up in the finish. This is a wine built both for the cellar and your dinner table.

Aromas of cherries and plum accented by tobaccco, herbs, dried roses and hints of cacao. The palate is full bodied with intense fruit flavors, bracing acidity and balanced tannin. At this price point I would say do yourselves a favor and give it time to open up - decant or leave open on the counter for a day. It's certainly and age worthy wine, but is drinking really well now.

Dark ruby in the glass. Aromas of black cherry, perfume and tobacco. The overall impression is light and nuanced. More fruit than earth, and not a surprise for the vintage. The wine is balanced and has plenty of acidity for aging potential. Drink now or later.

Inviting nose of dark pie cherries and brambles accented with smoke, churned earth, and spice. The palate is full bodied and lively with young grippy tannins balanced by crisp acidity. Ripe red fruit and baking spice flavors carry over well. The finish is long and the flavors hang around for a long time. Well done and reasonably priced.

Nearly identical to the Woodbridge Pinot that my wife's grandmother gave me at Christmas, only more expensive. Stale fruit aromas, some green pepper and oak. Dry on the palate and missing fruit, having kind of a woody popsicle stick texture. Semi-enjoyable with food but not exactly memorable.

Really basic but solid Riesling aromas including pears, nectarines, and minerals. Really easy drinking on the palate. Sweet but not heavy. Flavors remind me of fruit salad with cool whip. Again, it's not really heavy or sweet, but it's a very crowd pleasing style, and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's a good NW Riesling that I'd happily drink again.

Very solid Riesling for less than $10. Complex aromas of pears, stone fruits, fresh cut hay and a faint, musky kind of sour beer character. Great fruit flavors on the palate. On the dry side with a faint touch of RS. Really nice acidity. This is a killer food wine. Excellent QPR.

Sat open on the counter all day and then decanted for about 2 hours: The nose is ripe with deep red and black fruits tinged with tobacco and spice. It's very inviting and complex. I can't stop putting my nose in the glass. This is in a great place right now. It's well balanced and delicious. All of the flavors from the nose translate to the palate. It's smooth and integrated while providing enough structure to warrant laying down for a few more years if you feel like it.

Very cherry cola nose - dark cherries and spice. No discernible funk or real Oregon terroir on the nose. The palate is balanced and beautifully structured for the price point, though. It has acid and tannin with an easy drinking quality to it. It's a crowd pleaser in that sense. That said, there are better wines at this price if you look hard enough.

Open about 4 hours: 100% Johan Vineyard fruit in this one, meaning it's biodynamic and probably awesome. Ripe red fruits, earth and smoke on the nose. The wine is very quaffable with smooth texture and snappy acidity. The finish is long and tart. This is really good juice for the price. The Bow & Arrow Gamay noir is an absolute knockout QPR as well. I'm now a fan.
