Still surprisingly fresh!

2007 Chehalem Cerise Ribbon Ridge Gamay-Pinot Noir Blend, Gamay (view label images)
This is still surprisingly fresh. I don't think it's one to drink over two nights, but it is in far better shape than I expected. The acids really kept it alive.

Really well-balanced in all ways. Drinking very well right now. I'd like to know what the blend is.

Really tannic and tightly wound. Acidity seems high. Not impressed.

Pretty one dimensional and flat. Not much fruit or anything else) going on here.

This was surprisingly good given my past experience with Abacela port and the one other review. Maybe it just needed time? Everyone really liked it.

This one was a little corky, but it blew off after an hour or so. I'd say this wine is slightly past its peak.

Pretty good. Dark fruit and a bit of cured meat. A tiny bit gamy for my taste but still a great value!

Lots going on in this wine for being so well-priced. Dark fruit, cocoa powder, maybe some leather or tobacco.

I liked this bottle better. Cured meat and dark fruit dominated, but it wasn't out of balance. Good acidity.

Good but not especially complex. It got dumb and flabby as time went on. Enjoyed it more upon opening than 5 hours later.

Not a great Syrah. Thick and almost syrupy. Very meaty and a little tart. Weird.

A good example of an oaked Oregon chard. Not to creamy or buttery - there's more baking spice and balance to it. Drinking very well right now.

This was definitely over the hill. Not much fruit remaining; was mostly just a bit of petrol. Not offensive but not what it once was.

The acids seemed a little high here. Not much of those floral aromas you often find in Oregon PG.

Interesting. I don't think I'd guess this to be Albarino. Maybe a white blend of some sort with SB in it. Not as much oak as I remember when first tasting about a year ago.

Drinking very nicely right now. Velvety smooth with cocoa, subtle dark berries, some tobacco, maybe a little smoke toward the end. Shorter finish than I expected but it didn't detract from the wine at all.

No specific notes on this one, other than that it was a very good. Nicely balanced, well integrated tannins. Not too much oak or fruit or acid. Drank really well with steaks and pork shank.
