Is there any wine that John Alban doesn’t hit it out of the park? Amazing American Grenache, how does any other winemaker beat this wine!

Amazing it’s still in a great spot for a 14yr old American Syrah!

Is there a better US Grenache, I don’t think so. Soft but full of flavor, simply unlike any other US produced Grenache that I’ve had.
So sad so little produced.

My 2nd experience, tried a young ‘14 a few years ago. But time has been very good, both for aging and a bit more mature vines.
Clearly a Christophe wine, but a bit more mellow and richer.

Wow, wow and wow! What a beautiful wine and can only dream on where this will be in another 3-7 years, flirting with perfection of I was to guess.

Classic Baron style in a really good place. Funk has mellowed and I just don’t see this getting any better at 10yrs.

Though I don’t think it’s a top SQN, still a great wine. Served to a few people who’ve never had the opportunity to drink a Manfred wine all thought it was spectacular.

I really need to buy more of this when offered again. Yes a big VV fan, this is another winner and doesn’t hurt to be from the Platt vineyard.

Took a peek and was tremendous, but still needs a couple of years 5o round out. Typical SL fruit profile.

Still a bit young, just needs a couple of more years to build a bit more depth, but still Cayuse taste profile.

You can never go wrong with a bottle of Bevan when looking for that big Napa fruit bomb and Sugarloaf has always been one of my favorites, but all good things come to an end.
Time to curtail purchases and as much as I like Russell’s work he sadly didn’t make the cut.
Still though one of the best making Cab’s in that style.

Year in year out my favorite BTF offering and this bottle did not disappoint. Even better served to a few under educated wine drinkers that absolutely loved it, which is always great to hear.

First, I’m pissed at myself as I should have never opened as evening was coming to an end. And then what did I do, forgot to close it up and was left with 2/3’s of a wasted bottle of great wine.
I would wait at least 2yrs can see it improving a bit more.

Always satisfying to share a great wine with experienced wine drinkers who have never tasted an Alban much less a Lorraine or Seymour’s.
They were all blown away by the classics Alban taste profile and were begging me to open another, sorry I had to tell them….. no effing way.

A little disappointed that I didn’t see any improvement from 2yrs ago, still a very nice wine. Would have thought the body would have filled out a bit more.
Had together with an ‘18 Vice Versa Kalon which was tremendous but still young. Will leave alone for a few years.

Purchased just once, big Sam fan and was pleasantly surprised. This is a wine that will only improve (no great statement) with 3-5 years and could easily see it garnering another 2-3 points, but extremely drinkable right now.
Gave it about 6hrs of decant time and it was ready to go, even wife was ecstatic with it.

My first whack at the Grenache and no disappointment, then again when does Andremily disappoints - never!
Still needs a year or 2 and I think the fruit will calm down a bit more, but that’s the only issue.

I’ve really fallen off the Booker bandwagon other than Fracture, their wines seem to be a misguided attempt at producing a high quality Rhone varietal.
Tasted like a fruity syrupy kids drink, sorry just being blunt.

First Napa ‘17 I’ve tried and pleasantly surprised. It was the last bottle of the evening and it was PNP, but still was not a disappointment.
Still though leave those ‘17’s alone for 3-5 years and I believe you will be properly rewarded.

First I admit I’m a big Pegau & CNP fan and was a bit worried looking at recent scores when I popped this, but I was thrilled with this wine. For an “entry level” wine it was at its peak and showed no signs of slipping.
I’ve got 2 bottles left and will plan on drinking another a year from now.
