11/26/23, 6:12 PM - No, to our detriment.
9/26/22, 6:30 PM - Hi Tom - came across your 2016 Black Sears zin comment…we just finished our last 2016. It started a bit woody but evened out over the evening. Hopefully, you have more of them!
7/22/21, 4:18 AM - We just opened one last night and you tagged it perfectly!
6/27/21, 4:28 AM - Ditto - well said!
6/6/21, 5:47 PM - Disagree - this isn’t even in its drinking window yet
12/12/20, 3:49 PM - I have one that was gifted to us - party wine!
1/29/19, 9:11 AM - Some of them have been less exciting than other vintages. We liked 2015 Fredericks and Ueberroth...but Ueberroth is always my favorite.
1/29/19, 11:50 AM - Interesting. I don’t think we have opened much 16 yet. I’ll have to pull some out and try them. We have a Eurocave for all of our Turley as they don’t fit well in our cellar.
4/29/17, 6:54 AM - Yes, a garagiste purchase and the first and only purchase of the wine I have made. The second bottle, while not corked, was full of twigs and sticks. If I remember correctly, this is Reynvaan's second label or somehow tied to the family. We have one bottle left - I was going to hold for a little bit to see if the flavor evened out.
4/29/17, 10:45 AM - I called and they gave me a choice of a refund (check only - they cannot credit my account) or another bottle froma list of available wines. I took another bottle.
4/8/17, 6:13 AM - My husband found this wine at the same restaurant - we are buying a case.
11/18/16, 2:19 PM - What is your estimate for drinking? I just ordered mine today.
3/7/16, 3:14 AM - We found the same thing in drinking a bottle this weekend...flabby.
10/19/15, 4:26 PM - I get a huge vegetal component on the wine. I am surprised at some of the positive ratings - but maybe some drinkers like that component
10/19/15, 4:55 PM - We popped one in August. It was consistent with your observations.
10/19/15, 4:23 PM - We've been buying it by the case - great QPR
7/8/15, 6:12 PM - And this ties ti a zin tasting note HOW?!
8/31/15, 10:51 AM - We opened a 2010 Rafenelli zin last night...no note yet as we will write it after finishing it tonight. It was really vegetal - not my favorite and again, not the topic being discussed (2013 zin). :)
7/16/15, 10:01 AM - Is it ready? did you decant?
7/8/15, 6:09 PM - Original from garagiste below. 2011 was a crazy year for OR pinot. I guess $16 price point was good. I tasted the 12's a month ago - awesome• This is the exact same cork, bottle, label and contents as what sits on store shelves as I type this (not a Kinko's label).• It is the current release.• It is from Oregon• It is 100% Pinot Noir.• It is low/moderate in alcohol % (this is not a 14.0%+ cherry cough syrup Pinot Noir – it shows actual presence, fruit and mineral drive). • It has been praised (I mean 90 or more pts) by a myriad of different palates and predilections (i.e. terroir enthusiasts and yum enthusiasts have lauded it equally – that is very unusual).• It is a single vineyard example (and labeled as such) from a noted source.• Nothing else.Except......today’s Mystery $ is DOWNRIGHT INSANE!!!$16+ !(what happened to the “no hyperbole” in today’s offer” ?)This wine has the most pristine and original provenance available – directly from the winery cellar in Oregon. On your mark, get set...GO!FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to 240/person until we run out (20 case maximum/person).Please try to order in groups of 3 – 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, etc – thank you in advance...Oregon Pinot Noir Mystery 750ml - $16.71(compare at $40-60+, up to $90+)
7/10/15, 11:30 AM - I've had very good luck with the mystery wines. I've had a couple of duds (I haven't tried this one) but most have been worth the money. I visited Evening Land a month ago and the 2012's are amazing!
7/16/15, 9:52 AM - LastBottle is offering the Evening Land Eola-Amity Hills Pinot for $15.
12/31/14, 6:12 AM - Mine is still sitting in the cellar - looking forward to trying it!
8/11/14, 6:39 PM - I hope do - I have 2 more in the cellar
7/30/14, 11:47 AM - I used to buy this wine by the case, the 94 being my favorite and most purchased. I decided to look at current vintage reviews and found yours. We opened a 94 3 liter 2 months ago that was absolutely astounding. I hope later vintages hold up as well.
4/12/13, 3:38 AM - Ueberroth is consistently my favorite Turley zin - love it! Haven't tried the 2010 yet
4/1/13, 3:41 AM - I haven't opened any of mine yet - and haven't tried earlier vintages. Can't wait to open!
1/9/13, 3:49 AM - We found the same thing. I've been drinking Paloma since the 2001 release and this has been the most disappointing vintage
