This is an exceptional Californian Pinot. Great medium weight body, with huge red fruit flavours. Nice richness and long length.

Didn't take a huge amount of notes on this wine, but the main theme was how positive this was.

Golden yellow colour, which gives us the indication this is going to be a bold wine.

Sherry like notes on the nose. Honey and peaches in the palate, with a little bit of toffee. Feels luxurious and coats the palate. Acidity slightly dominates, but the length is really long.

The wine is obviously well made, and excellent. Personally a bit too rich for me, and one glass was enough.

Drinking nicely, might do with another year in bottle to really balance out.

Quite a sticky body and texture, gave a nice roundness and body. Grapefruit aromas. Mild oak and apple flavours on the palate.

Fruit sweetness with a cleansing acidity. Really good length

Subtle sweetness and acidity, make this one for an easy drinking red now. Chocolate, cherry flavours. Hint of vanilla and oak.

This really is drinking well at the moment.

On initial opening really get a sense of coffee on the palate. As it opens, the fruit sweetnees appears along with a hint of pepper. The smokey, oak palate then takes over. There is good acidity and length is really good.

I was a fan of this, although my wife wasn't so sure of it. In my opinion the oak was well managed and didn't overpower everything else that was going on in the wine.

Lovely buttery feel in the mouth, gave it a rich body. Lovely sweetness, but a touch acidic. Although the acidity did soften, so maybe just served too cold.

Vanilla, biscuit type aromas initially on the nose. Incredibly clear, elderflower cordial type colour.

On the palate, the wet gravel minerality shows through. Not as sweet as I was expecting, but nice acidity. Hint of oak at the end. Certainly a complex, well made wine with good length. For some reason though not my favourite Godello at the moment, maybe something that will grow on me.

Quite dry in the palate, which was a surprise. Grapefruit dominant flavour initially, slight wet slate and lemon once the bottle was opened a while.

Not as acidic as expected from this variety. Made it feel a bit flat.

Good wine for the price, but certainly better examples of this variety available with a small step up in price.

Such a good wine. Lovely slate like edge to the tropical fruits

There is a good acidity, that cuts through the palate. Leaves the palate watering and wanting more.

Nothing exceptional about this, but a really light Tawny. Nice sweetness and creamy texture. The 18% alcohol could be better managed, a bit of a burn at the end.

Its a good bottle to have in the cupboard for an everyday bottle of this style.

Red fruit dominating, mixed with vanilla and cedar oak. Smooth flavours and texture. Slightly herbal finish.

Low tannins and medium acidity, but slightly lighter in body than would expect. Length also a bit disappointing.

Overall a nice, easy drinking wine. In my opinion better available for the money though if you are after a wine with a bit more complexity.

Last bottle in cellar, and shame as this has matured over the couple of years really nicely. At the moment showing a lovely blackcurrant sweetness. However, with a smokey, earthy nature. Some tannin's that have mellowed since my last tasting, with good acidity.

Pleasant length, and not clingy feeling in the mouth. Also surprising alcohol %.

Silky texture once aerated, bit of bitterness to add some depth. Ok length but not exceptional.

The sweetness that underpins this made it work well with a spicy, meat pizza. Plus considering this is 14.5% there wasn't an unpleasant effect on the throat.

Overall continues to be a good everyday wine, but not stand out. Considering cost in the UK now, think there are better available

Really sweet tobacco on initial opening, herbal notes. Sweetness and tobacco softened whilst opened, with the fruits being more dominant. Had limited length and tannin's but the acidity was really good with the sweetness.

Nicely cut through a BBQ meal

This is summer in a wine.

Clean, citrus taste as you would expect from the variety and region. Lovely sweetness and good acidity to give the clean taste. Good length.

Overall great value wine.

Slight white pepper and mint edge to dried red fruit.

Overall just a bit boring

I'm a huge fan of this wine, considering the cost per bottle.

Its beginning to mellow but this means more of the black fruit is becoming prominent. A bit of cocoa and vanilla oak to support this fruit.

Mild sweetness and low tannins, but there is a good acidity. Bit of a kick with the alcohol at the end.

Nose of tart cherries and almonds. As would expect.

The initial flavours of fruit and some leather hints. Good acidity, however, it has certainly softened since I first tried 18 months ago.

Once had been open an hour, it seemed to develop a harsher edge. More like cough syrup. Leaving a slightly bitter after taste.

All in all still a pleasant wine, just feel its beginning to go beyond its peak.

I thought for the value this was an excellent wine. Had a complexity of flavours that I wasn't necessarily expecting. It continued to evolve over the course of the night.

I do think it needs another year or so in bottle to lose some of its edge, but its drinkable now.

Will certainly be buying this again, and recommend people give it a go if members of Naked Wines.

Slightly savoury on initial opening, this softened to the expected fruit style over the course of the evening.

Nice acidity and weight in the mouth.

Although this is not an exceptional wine, for less than £10 a bottle this is good value for money.

Aromas of citrus and honey.

A dry feel n the mouth. At the moment the dominant flavours are herbal, with hint of ripe pear like fruit. Good body, but a slightly oily finish.

Expect this to open up and improve substantially over the coming years.

Pale, slightly hazy red colour.

Nose of raspberry, pepper and wet stone.

The palate is interesting. Starts with red fruits as you would expect given the nose, hints of chocolate and pepper. Slight acidic edge, low tannins. As the bottle was open though the black fruits opened up and become more dominant, and the pepper kick softened. Flavours certainly evolved over the course of the evening.

Nice easy drinking red. One for drinking young rather than cellaring.

Mature golden delicious colour, yellow with hint of green.

Buttery, pears on the nose.

Palate has melon, crisp apple. Subtle vanilla, with slight nutty taste. Good body across the tongue. Its a balance of sweetness and acidity. There is a a little tingle on the throat to highlight the moderate level of alcohol.

Overall a good wine. Balanced, multiple flavour layers. Personally I just like a little more acidity.

For the money this is an interesting wine. My only issue is that over the course of an evening the fruit overpowered any of the depth.

On initial opening there is a sweet, fruit forward nose. With slight pepper undertones. The first hit on the palate is the fruit sweetness, but actually as it moved around the mouth it showed its other sides. There is a good savoury, bitter edge to the wine, and nice acidity at the end. Slight black pepper after taste.

So for me initial glass or so was interesting, what lets it down is that it quickly becomes fruit dominant. Having said that this is a good everyday wine.

Nice, easy drinking, fruit forward wine. Great value for money as well

Light, clear red colour. Red fruit on the nose, with slight herb edge. On the palate, nice cherry fruitness, medium bodied with mid tannin's

Reasonable length as well. Thought this was a good example.

I wasnt a fan of this wine. Did improve as it warmed up, so certainly shouldnt be over chilled.

The nose though it had a light tropical note, was a bit too acidic.

It didn't improve on the palate, there was a bit of fruit sweetness but the acidity (as is expected with other Godello's) was lacking making this unexciting.

For the money there are better examples of Godello's available.

Crisp, sweet apple with a little minerality in the mouth. The initial flavours that jumped out. Mid weight on the palate.

Good acidity, with lime and elderflower supplementing the apple flavours.

The length was quite good. Rounded, slightly buttery finish.

Overall a good, everyday drinking wine.

Needed aerating to allow it to open up, but after that a good wine.

Forward red fruit palate, with good acidity. Little bit of liquorice on the initial palate. Subtle oak in the middle.

Not quite as much pepper on the palate as come to expect with style of wine. Overall though a good fruit forward wine, and great value for money.

I think this wine has potential to be a 90+ with another year or so in bottle.

Red fruits, with hint of chocolate on the nose.

Flavours were initially very closed. Fruit is dominated by the leather and grippy tannins. Showed decent sweetness and acidity though once the bottle had been open an hour. It has a nice velvety texture once its softened.

Gooseberry type taste at back of mouth.

Length good.

Bold, acidic berries on the nose. Underlying herbal and cherry menthol aromas.

Fruity sweetness, but slightly too acidic. Softens when opened a while.

Peppery, with a hint of mint upon initial opening. Fruity body once opened up. Can sense the higher than average alcohol content

Certainly worth opening 30 - 45 minutes before drinking.

Clear ruby red in colour. Looks fairly light weight in the glass.

Bold red fruits on the nose and tongue. Fruity sweetness dominates in the mouth. Mid acidity and low tannins. Slight pepper after taste upon initial opening, but this quickly goes once the bottle is open.

Overall good value, light and fruit forward wine. Everyday type wine.

Deep red, moving towards slightly maroon in colour. Spicy, earthy nose.

Initial palate chocolate and slightly smokey. Slight vanilla hints at the end.

Mild tanins. On initial opening the fruit sweetness was a little closed so was slightly acidic. After a while did open up and become more balanced.

For the price this is exceptional value for money, but a long way from the Rubicon that they produce!

2nd time trying this wine, experience was just as good as the first time.

Deep ruby red colour. Jammy sweet fruit nose.

Cherry and red fruit sweetness and flavours. Good acidity, with slight oak dryness. On initial opening had a slight alcohol kick at the end, this softened once open a short while.

Clean, dark cherry appearance

Mineral and hint of pepper nose. Goes alongside the expected strong oak notes.

On the palate there are bold, grippy tannins. Alongside an overpowering oak flavour. Suggest that this needs some time to breath in order to soften and draw out some of the fruit.

Medium length on the finish. The smokeyness of the oak hangs around for a while, and randomly got an orange type taste long into the finish.

Deep purple in colour.

Medium in nose, with blackcurrant notes. Also initial petrol notes, but these did soften after the bottle had been open an hour.

Medium tannins and slight acidity. Did seem to lack a bit of body compared to what I was expecting. Flavours of tobacco came through from the oak ageing. As opened up did get a stronger chocolate flavour, hence its name!

Overall good value from money and can see why this highly recommended.

Extremely pale golden colour. Suggests only a hint of oak on the nose and this is also telling on the palate.

Light grapefruit nose, but there isn't too much going on.

Slightly acidic on the palate, but nothing too unpleasant. Overall an average wine, enjoyed more by drinking partners than myself.

Maroon in colour.

Aroma was primarily cocoa, with fruit (cherries and plums) more subtle.

On initial opening had a sharp, liquorice type taste. Softened and grew in fruit flavours have about an hour open. Had mid strength tannins, so think this could do with a little longer in bottle. Overall good length and medium weight.

Surprisingly paired very well with a rare fillet steak.
