Juicy and delicious. So young but approachable with some air. Quality fruit and structure. Long length-nice especially for the price….3rd night really opened (corovin sealed)

Pale and browning-attractive nose. Palate is Very distinctive old school style of whole bunch. Dried out. Appealing in a sense with the right food match. Hard work Otherwise. Certainly not GC standard. A village wine from a good producer is far more enjoyable for every day drinking

Looks Dark and brooding -not yet brick coloured. Lots of harsh wood and tannin on opening. Plenty of fruit left. After one hour, things start to soften, integrate and open. Not a wine with a huge amount of finesse but it has ‘gravitas’…..not very Margaux.

Opened and poured. Still tight. Needs some air. Lots of wound up fruit. Enjoyable but not sure it’s showing it’s best at the moment.

Lovely nose. Dark and brooding. Lots of savoury spice flavours with considerable structure of tannin and a solid spine of acid. Quite complex with a long aftertaste. Needs some air to shows it’s best. Not bad..

This was so embryonic. Tight as a fishes ars…. etc. Air for 6hrs made little impact. Lots of fruit, tannin and structure. Don’t drink it too young-waste of time. This should develop into something very special.

Elegant but not exciting. Some air helps with intensity. Fans out ever so subtly. I won’t be ‘chasing’ this wine.

Not sure about this. Nose was the best part. Reduction was noticeable. Hopefully will flesh out with time. Hard work. I will leave this for a few years and hope for some positive change….

This is ‘open for business’. Sweet, floral but svelte. Some spice. Lovely delicant restraint binding it all together. Many years ahead however for this wine.

A jack Russell nose -lots happening. Lots of lively tannin and acid structure balanced already with a core of purple fruit …results in a long velvety finish even though it’s very primary/young. A few years Will integrate …..result should be compelling. I will Wait a few years before opening the next bottle.

This is very good for what it is. Struck match on the nose and palate. Nice mineral and a lovely core of fruit lead to a spicy but not overly long finish. Very Meursault ….certainly as good as any village or lessor 1 Cru. Very Satisfying…. For the price.
Red
Average at best. Lacked any real fruit or structure you would expect at this level….just flat and uninteresting. Didn’t really change over a few nights using corovin. Hopefully atypical or a flawed bottle??

Opens beautifully with some air in a burg glass. Smells and tastes better than the label would suggest. Lovely core of berry flavours with some spice. More weight than a typical Bourgogne from marsannay. Fans out with impressive length. Held together and changed impressively night 2. Nicely surprised.

Very fleshy and dense -mouth coating but not in an elegant way. Some spice and complexity but the weight dominates. Most un-Chambolle like. Time (a lot) may help to soften and intergrate. Still a characterful and enjoyable wine. 2nd night very similar. Just looked at alcohol…14.5%!! Never drunk a burgundy approaching this -now explains the wine. Paid $130US at Seabourne.

Smells and Tastes like a 1cru Puligny from a decent producer. Nose in particular is convincing. This wine is their premium chard from standard… which is also very good. Notes from the producer are fairly accurate
…….notes of gun smoke and struck match, complemented by white peach and nectarine. Wholemeal, cracked pepper and savoury notes add to the complexity of this wine. Grapefruit and lime notes give the palate poise and restraint and complement the hints of French oak.

Extracted (overly?) and quite intense. Satisfying density and quality of fruit. However some ‘trickery’ with the wine making….both this and a another 2020 Anita (both 13.5%) gave me a massive headache the next day from a relatively small amount. Most unusual for me. This does not drink/behave like burgundy. Be cautious. Maybe time will ‘soften’ the wine’s affects??

Subtle and elegant. Spice. I haven’t drunk many Sonoma pinot but this was v. Burgundy stylistically…. But with some unneeded weight. Delicious though.

Drank at WC with a 1cr Colin Morey Chassagne 09 which was better wine. Others all thought was Burg?? Certainly hid it’s weight and alcohol well. Lacked the acidity of a good burg but fruit and structure was convincing. Such value for money.

Drank WC. Deep dark and brooding. Concentrated. Linear on the palate. Despite 3 hr decant obviously way too young. Needs more time. Lots of Spicey fruit with managed tannins all in balance. Not my go to style of wine but this was impressive.

Rather disjointed and ‘chunky’ and the moment even after an extended decant. Lacks finesse. Oak still prominent. More time in the bottle May lead to better integration and elegance…..hopefully. Time will tell.

What a great wine for the price. So young but approachable after some air. Lots of nuanced flavours. I understand some of the material comes from the barolo vineyards. Happy to drink this while waiting for the ‘big boys’ to mature.

On opening was tightly wound and unforgiving. Gently double decanted which made an immmediate improvement ….but ultimately it lost its vibrancy and became rather ‘normal’ by the end of the bottle. It’s a reminder (to self!) that that even big, well structured burgundy rarely likes extended decanting unless it’s very young. Held its own against the 2006 Colin Bruno CdeB …but the 1999 Rousseau was far more vital and complex in comparison.

Decanted for aprox 1 hr. Drank WC slowly over 3 hours. Big wine. Only started to soften, open and show its true potential towards the end. Needs a lot more time. Some secondary flavours emerging but still has an obvious tannic spine. Structure and material was more in keeping with chambertin than charmes chambertin. Wait another 5-10 years to try the next.
