PNP.
Classic Jura "funk" on nose, with lemon, grapefruit, slight nutty overlay and crushed rocks.
Acidity , electrifying. Med- bodied. Lithe and racy.

Needs time/ a decant? a little unsettled I think.

Lovely jura chardonnay in a ouille style. Would drink again no problems.
Red
Nothing wrong with this bottle. Decanted for 45mins.

Red berries, pepper and some earth.

Medium+ bodied with good fruit weight and acidity. Sheet of powdery tannins still on the finish.

Dont see this improving that much more. Drink up.
White
A wine of wonderful balance and poise. Just as I remember it was back when I bought these.

Medium bodied with that tell tale apricot and white peach.

Compact, line and length. with lovely acidity to balance out the flavours.

Well produced Condrieu! No flabbyness or oilyness you tend to get from this varietal.

Drink or hold for another 5 years.
Red
Decanted 4 hours. Solid langhe nebbiolo. Even better the next evening

More development since the last bottle.

But the char/ash and some tinges of bitter notes out/noticable.

Drinkable and ok enough.

Lovely. I'd drink up now. dont think its going to get better.

This needs time. plenty of time in decanter if drinking now.

Its quite tight and not wanting to come out to play. It's enjoyable enough but give it plenty of air or more bottle time I reckon.
White
Just knocked it out of the park! Electric, complex and length for days!

Some people say it’s the only white to be worthy. This showed why.

There’s quite a bit of reduction that’s blowing away. Grapefruit citrus. Touches of nut, apricot and saline for days. And the length. oh my!

60mins+ decant. Lean, touch sour cherry notes. over time (the next day) it got better with more fruit presence - but overall no fruit weight, no depth, and a tad disappointing given the vintage.

Am hoping this will turn around with a bit more time in bottle, but not sure after that.

Lovely Sancerre. Medium bodied.

Sweetness on nose with apricot and nectarine.

Sweet on entry but pulls dry , textural with touches of honey. Mineral throughout. Just the way it should be. Nice length. So drinkable too!
White
Lovely Chablis! Needs a good decant (1hr+) though as all acidity at start. Filled out. Little austere through the finish. Will be an even better wine with a bit of age.

2004 Château Haut-Bailly Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Ready to go when popped! I just let it unfurl in the glass.

Tertiary notes of leather. Classic Bordeaux. Medium++ bodied. Fresh and still so much life in the wine. Acidity still present , good fruit weight buffering the tannins that push through the end. Decent length.

Just a lovely Bordeaux with so much more to give yet. Drink or hold 3-4 years. Pity it’s my last bottle.

Popped and poured. Unmistakeably Gevrey w the dark cherry fruit jumping out of the glass w the barnyard earth running through. Nice depth of fruit - dark cherry almost syrupy persistence.. medium+ bodied that generosity of fruit forward known for 12s with the tannins pushing through the back giving some structure. Very enjoyable. Drink or hold (2- 4 more years)
Red
2016 Château Ormes de Pez St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend (view label images)
Agree w the general positive sentiments. Very primary red fruited as expected. Generous juicy medium+ bodied. Balanced with ripe sheet of tannins pushing through the finish. Approachable but for me needs time as too primary. Come back 4-5 years ?

Still going strong this wine. Fruit still there. Undertow of acidity and dusty tannins yet to be resolved.

Lovely claret. In the spot now

Half bottle; small decant
White

waffs of tropical fruit and citrus flinty notes
medium bodied, lively acidity , more citrus, pineapple and a toast butterscotch through the length of the palate. minerals for days. And wow - incredible length! just keeps going on and on! lovely fruit presence , racy.

I have a feeling this wine will unfurl brilliantly in time. Give it another year to settle. And it will be special!
White
Smokey citrus, touches of tropical passion fruit on nose
Medium bodied, lovely density velvety through the palate. Fresh with a tarty citrus acidity that drives long !! Saline savoury minerally.Touches of grapefruit wafting through

Agree with most of the notes so far: a bit out of whack with the acidity and sour notes poking through. Lacks the depth of fruit. Improves with air time. Ok enough wine.

I may drink up the last bottle I have to make way for other wines.

Dark ruby with tinges of orange at edge

Lovely ripe cherries, earth with touches of strawberries and secondary aromas (leather).

Med- bodied, ok to good depth of fruit - cherries with minor cream notes in play. balanced out with good acidity and dusty fine tannins barely noticeable pushing out at end.

Length is ok. Theres no intensity through the palate.

Just lacks the structure to be other than a decent enough wine. A good lovely wine but doesnt rock my boat.

Dont see this improving much. Start drinking up now through to 4 more years.

This is why I got into Aussie Pinot noir all those years ago. Solid wine, more importantly drinkable and enjoyable no thinking style wine. With friends.

Lovely sweet cherries bouncing out of glass ( PnP). Cherries , touch of tartness in the mouth with dusty tannins through the back giving it some structure. Savouriness over fruit. The way I like it. Touch of alcohol heat is minor quibble. But nonetheless a good fri night med bodied wine.

I’d start drinking up slowly over the next 6years. And hold the final one to see how it is with 10+ years bottle age.

Powerful, purity of fruit: almond , toast , green apple, touch candy (apple chew) , oak. Wow what a nose! Apples jump out!

Medium bodied. Power with finesse. Depth. Drive with the acidity and fine tannins covering the palate giving structure. Lovely length

More Apple & citrus , unobtrusive oak n cream at the front of palate , touches of passion fruit/ grapefruit and saline at the end. That balance so good.

Wow cracking wine!

Drinkable now. Hold another 3-4 years.

Lovely sweet dark cherries. Broody. Touch orange rind. Spice. Hints of Mint / menthol
Medium body. That classic Nebbiolo dark cherries and black tea with lovely persistence. Finishing with a covering of brick dust tannins.

Bright , juicy and approachable. Would like a touch more depth but what an interesting charming wine!

Drink now or hold for 3-4 years more.

Dark cherries, earthy and stemmy on nose.

More of the same through the palate.

Pnp. Brett on nose. Barnyard Hmm !!

What an overnight transformation!I didn’t have the patience. Probably needed a good airing before I tackled it.

Not much notes.

All the funk which was a bit too much blew off. Dark cherry. Earthy on nose.

Same on palate... earthy savoury dark cherries. Touch medicinal / bitterness at end with lovely acidity and velvety tannins.

Med bodied lovely wine. Darker profile Malakoff Nebbiolo than say 14 Latta Pyrenees.

3nights in and it hasn’t budged much from the previous night

It’s come storming out of the gates (PnP) - aromatic, sweet spice, dark cherry, orange rind on nose.

Cherry and that cherry liquor bitter liquorice ending (amaro?) with a nice grip of dusty tannins.

Med+ body wine of balance and structure

So aromatic! My nose wants it more !

Great effort. Lovely now but I think it has so much to offer with at least 5 years of bottle age!

On the nose there is ripe red fruit, bright with woody oak in the background.

Sweet on entry. Very nice acidity. Juicy and fresh, with good length.
Some oak discernible through the palate.

Linear in profile. Just so young. Opens up in glass after 40mins or so.

Very nice wine. Will revisit in 3-4 years time. Needs time to come together a bit more.

Deep red, brown/orange colour
Blackcurrents on nose.

Meaty , saline in mouth with whole hit of lovely gravelly tannins to a dry grippy finish. Very slight "porty" notes at end , good length.

A bit short on the palate and lean through the middle.

A medium bodied wine, that's very nice to drink.

Reminds me of a bourgogne/cote de nuit. I'd like to see this in 3-5 years time.

Dark deep purple in colour

Ripe cherry, oak earthy nose.

Sweet and juicy in mouth of cherry, marzipan and oak.

Loads of acidity and grippy ending of tannins.

Not long in palate, not overly complex and fruit forward (too much).

Just not together .... too ripe for my liking.

Not sure whether it was effected by cellaring conditions. I found it a bit flat through the middle. merlot fwd.

Hoping it was bottle variation, as I have a few more to go!

Super dark wonderful claret colour throughout to the edge. Nice oak, vanilla notes with slight cherry and old leather on nose.

Noticable oak on palate with tannins well integrated. Old cherry, very good length with slight chalky finish.

Wonderfully smooth through the mouth with notes of liquorice as the wine opened up.

Really really lovely and typical Coonawarra. Lacks that extra dimension for it to be next level.

Needed a good 1.5hours decant.
