This really impressed from the get go. Seemed to be at peak - fully resolved with perfumed nose, silky red fruits, and tertiary notes of cigar and cut grass emerging with time in the glass. On the sweeter side with red/black currants and cherry fruit profile. Light mouthfeel with ethereal power - dare I say almost burgundian. Lively and pronounced tannins in beautiful balance with the fruit profile. Really enjoyed this bottle.

Bottle said 14.4% ABV, but I would have believed it if you told me 16% or higher - very prominent alcohol which really overshadowed everything else. Full bodied bordering on syrupy. Very ripe dark fruits with an extracted/stewed fruit profile that reminded me of an overdone CdP from a hot year. Just too much alcohol and extraction for my taste.

Seems like there is potential here, but I would say it needs several more years or at least a long decant if drinking now.

Wow, wasn't expecting greatness but this was excellent. This is a wine I remembered fondly from my early wine drinking days. Opened with ah so and the mouth of the bottle cracked so I filtered into a decanter and drank immediately. Huge aromas of cherries while pouring into the decanter. Still lively with soft tannins - bright cherries and plums on the palate this was very enjoyable.
