Something was off, must have been the bottle and how it was stored. Had an almost spritzy feel to it. Could tell it was complex beneath that but was almost undrinkable. Disappointing, and not just because of what was spent on the bottle....

Not as good or complex as their more premium wines but still of the usual high quality of Emilio Moro and of course, good bang for your buck.

Very basic daily drinking, not heavy, good for a Tuesday night, even if you drink the whole bottle by yourself it's so light you barely feel it.

Big, massive notes of blackberries, dark wood, hints of vanilla. Very typical big Ribera, in a very good way.

Surprisingly acidic and quite undrinkable as a sipping wine. With fatty food to cut the acid, it was okay. Rare to encounter a Burgundy with that profile.

On the nose it smells like a typical, solid Burgundy, on the palate it's exactly like that as well. I tend to not drink pinots if they're not a burgundy simply because their staple is so consistent. This falls middle of the range in Burgundy.

I tend to agree with a lot of the reviews I'm seeing here, it lacks body, spice, something...it's very potent and heavy while again lacking structure so a bit odd. I got this at the vineyard and at the tasting feel like I remember the 09' was more complex, to be seen...

Impressively big for only 12% alcohol content. Smooth and velvety. Definitely in its window. I had it after just an hour open which was fine, ideally give it 2-4h I'd say.

Very acidic. Not a massive body so I don't see this thing developing much further. Would be very difficult to drink without food.

Very ready for consumption. Give it around 30 minutes to breath. I've been drinking De Trafford Elevation for years and it remains one of my favorite SA wines. I've had the 06' and 07' before, first time on an 08' which I found much more elegant than the two previous years.

Massive, heavy crème de cassis, blueberries, raspberries, charcoal, tobacco, some light chocolate. Heavy on the palate but elegant at the same time. Could easily rest another 10 years but can be enjoyed now
