My first review on here in a long time. Very classical Corton Grand Cru. Similar notes to the positives already listed from others. Wine is just firing on all cylinders tonight. Reminds me of some greats 70s Cote de Beaune Premier/Grand Cru Pinot that I’ve had in the past. This is an outstanding bottle of 2011 Red Burgundy!

Why didn’t I buy more. Such good classic Bordeaux style blend. Holds up well on day 2. Best value out of Washington and destroys the French and Cali competition in this price range

Yummy stuff. Much better than when I tried this wine 2 years ago. Great to drink now or hold for a few more years

This wine is entering its sweet spot. Definitely needed the time for the oak to integrate into this beautiful juice. Decanted for 45 min. Wine was rich and round, while still maintaining a beautiful minerality and clear cut acidity. Transcending it’s Hautes-Côtes appellation reputation. God I love 2014 white Burgundy. Drink now

Quick smell and taste. Straight petrol. Not very exciting. First time trying a Clos Hune and this was quite disappointing

Ripe red fruit and black fruit. Earthy. Spice in the midpalate and finish. Almost Pommard like minus the massive tannins.

Very tasty and open for business. A young Cdp with great QPR. Very well balanced, refined, and smooth.

This bottle was slightly oxidized but not to the point of spoil luckily. You could still taste the complexity and grandeur of this famed Chardonnay growing location. A shame... Hope last bottle is different.

Citrus, minerals, and some oak. Not much grip and a bit underwhelming in terms of expressiveness. This wine is young but there just wasn’t enough stuffing to justify aging yet alone the price.

Red fruit, apple, light Pinot. Pretty decently valued Oregon Pinot

To Kalon fruit. Really great stuff with at least 5+ years of life ahead. No detailed notes but this is definitely a bottle to open now if you have it lying around.

Beautiful melange of candied tangerine and lemon but not overly sweet in any way. The complexity continues to unfold with air. Flinty, minerals, stones, and a nice application of luxurious French oak. Good grip. Wine peaked after about an hour open. No need to decant this fairly young 1er Cru Puligny. Open the bottle, sip and enjoy.

Had from 375ml. A bit of complexity with citrus fruits on the nose and palate. Grippy, minerals. Great value Puligny

Some of the best value Barolo I’ve had. Sure this may not be knockout Nebbiolo but for the price I think it’s pretty hard to beat. Very classic from one of the best recent vintages. Definitely decant and have with food. Much better on the second day.

Really damn good stuff. Disgorged 2018. Red fruits. Rich. Some yeasty notes. Very nice bubbles which kept the wine carbonated until the next day in the refrigerator. Punches above its "weight-class".
Rosé
Raspberry, watermelon fruit. Weirdly enough I get some pencil shavings and crayon scents as well. Weird and interesting Rose that could probly use a bit more time. Lovely color too.

2016 Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Delicious organic wine from Rocco Di Montegrassi. A regular Chianti Classico at its best. Plenty of ripe cherry fruit up front. Earth, mushroom, and a hint of organic matter and manure. Well balanced with a solid finish. Benchmark CC.
Rosé
Flowers and strawberries. Refreshing salinity with mouthwatering acidity. Lovely texture with a finish that leaves a nice raspberry tartness on the palate. Will be buying more.

This wine has deep red fruit characteristics, mouthwatering acidity, silky tannins and evidence of fine oak and elegant Burgundy funk. The finish is so good that it will make your head spin. Really damn good stuff from Domaine Heresztyn! Glad I bought a case. Drink now through the next 5+ years.

Solid complexity with deep red fruit flavors, hints of purple fruit such acacia, and some nice Burgundy funk. Healthy dose of oak. A bit more stewed and subdued fruit than the last bottle I’ve had. May be some bottle variation of slightly poor storage condition. I really love this Domaines wines which offers at least some sort of value in the Côte de Nuits. Will be buying more for sure.

Initially pretty tight and austere. The wine starts to unfold after about 90 minutes while still retaining some of its youthful austerity. Apple, lemon, honey, minerals. Very good structure and balance. Good salinity throughout the palate. The acidity shines along with some lemon peel bitterness in the long and satisfying finish. Still requiring another 3 years in the cellar.

2018 Graci Etna Rosato Etna DOC Nerello Mascalese (view label images)
All around gorgeous Italian Rosé wine. The Rose-Gold, borderline bright copper color is unlike anything I’ve seen before. Great balance in scent, flavor, and acidity. Lovely subtle red fruits. 100% Nerello Mascalese

Peach and pear! Decent acidity and minerals. Modest yet exciting.

Painfully young. Very tight. American new oak is very apparent. Vanilla and coconut which blows over after a bit. Dark berry fruit. Not too many other notes that I can remember. Needs the better of 10 more years for sure.

Light bodied. Dried sweet red cherry (although a dry wine) and some earthy funk and spices. Balanced acidity and well aged for a 9 year old Pinot. Blind I think I would have guessed Savigny-les-Beaune!

Dry wood and some mushroom on the nose initially. Blows over after some air in the decanter and starts to slowly reveal dark berry, spices, cinnamon hints, and anise type scents. On the palate you have the classic sour cherry, dried oregano, a bit of sweet balsamic and sweet tobacco. Tannins are still a bit tight but this is definitely a very drinkable wine at this stage. Love the balance and classic textbook feel of this wine. Will buy a few more for the cellar to start opening in another 2-3 years.

Great Paso Robles Cabernet. With nearly 5 years of age this is shining bright. Medley of red currant and black currant compote. Neutral oak. Relatively high acidity for a Cabernet but nothing to complain about from me!

This Sylvaner screams grapefruit type citrus scents and flavors. Acidity and finish could be a bit more exciting but can’t complain for $10

Ripe berry, Cabernet like on the nose and palate upon first opening. Some wood and oregano notes. Young tannins. After some air the wine reveals the classic cherry scent and taste that CC is known for. Overall very underwhelming considering WS score.

Strawberry, cherry and spice notes on the nose. Almost a syrupy or jammy component to the smell and taste. A bit of leather cover by forest floor. Pure tasting with a wonderful finish.

Fruit forward. Mild complexity of non-fruit notes. A bit overly acidic (and I love good acidity). Strong tannic backbone which complements this wine. Not much more detailed notes but was a pretty good wine. Probably needs a good decant.

A great Burgundy at $25. Not much change since my last review. Have consumed several more bottles since then. Some bottle variation but overall very solid

Not the ideal wine but at $8 there’s nothing to really complain about. Decent enough acidity and fruit. Light. Better than a bunch of the $10-15 swill floating around the US.

Savory, rich juiciness with some brooding spice. Nice restraint and solid balance. A steal at $11

More structured and tannic then the regular cuvee (which is priced slightly lower than this). Similar scent and flavor profile. Very tight and not as enjoyable as the regular Clos De la Roilette at this stage. Requires at least another 2-5 years in the cellar.

Very young. Was great on first day, even better on second day. Silky berries with some strawberry. Slightly austere tannic structure with plenty more room to get better with age. Overall very well balanced. You don’t see many California Cabs with 13% ABV like this anymore

Similar to Domaine Courdet’s Cuvee Christie Fleurie. Perfume of dark cherry, raspberry and red apple skins. Juicy with some of that awesome mouthwatering acidity and finish. A bit austere and tight. Definitely could use a few more years in the cellar. If opening now then decant for 30 min-1hr.

Old school Sonoma Zinfandel. One of the best Zin’s I’ve had. Dried blackberry and dried strawberry notes tied in with some sweet tobacco. Age has done this wine very well
