With reversed seared T-bone smoked. Plenty of promise up front, but a bit lacking in the mid. Eucalypt and tobacco in the mid with a dry lingering finish. Would give this a few more years.

Smooth mouthfeel. Red berries in the front moving into milk chocolate cherry with some violet later but in balance. The finish is the game changer. Moves into a more complex black fruit and chocolate with a little spice. Soft but flavourful. Powdered tannins leading to a very satisfying finish. I’d savour this ever night of the week.

Took about an hour to open up after decanting. Still a tinge of purple in the colour. Initial cherry in the front but moving into a dusty, forest floor mid developing into a porcini finish which lingers. Not the most complex pinot, but a very good pairing with mushroom risotto.

Drinking very nicely now, but has the potential for a couple of more years. Very pleasant initial mouthfeel, but then fruit is overcome by an acidity in the mid palate. The finish mellows but with still some lingering acid. Worth another few years to mellow out.

Not the funk on the nose that this had in earlier years. Drinking beautifully now, perhaps at its prime, but still plenty of fruit to suggest that it go even longer. Wish I had kept more of this vintage to test it out.

Wonderful bouquet. Very smooth and fruity initial palate of black fruits following onto eucalypts and licorice finishing with some balanced tannins & acid. There’s still another year or two left in this.

Deep purple. Lovely initial mouth feel. Mulberry fruits, with some cloves and licorice; middle of sour cherry finishing with cigar box and nice acid. Balanced and silky with some complexity. $150 cellar door which is outrageous overpriced. Bought in a mystery box for $35. Should definitely benefit for at least 5 years before I try again.

Medium body with purple hues. A little timid at first, but the fruit begins to come through with dark cherries following into some nice spice. The oak is there but integrated with the fruit to give a satisfying finish. Drinking well now and could probably develop further.
