2019 Arkenstone Estate Howell Mountain Red Bordeaux Blend
Rich, full body of black fruits. Great tannins but need more time to resolve.

1/17/24, 8:41 PM - Drank over 2 nights in succession. About 30 mins of air each time, about 1.5 hours consumption time. From the bottle, not decanted. Vacuvin after first night. Consistent notes across both nights. This is a big wine that is still very young and primary. Will return to it maybe in 6-9 years.

Dilute & watery body combined with dried out fruit. Not a good showing for this producer.

7/3/23, 12:26 PM - Could very well be bottle variation. There are comments about bottle variation in the thread. This bottle was not flawed or heat damaged. But certainly not as good as past bottles.

7/3/23, 12:52 PM - Yes. Poured out into decanter, rinsed & dried the bottle, then back into the bottle -- 3 hours. Back into decanter -- 2 hours.

I've saved a vile of it off, will return to it in a few days to see if anything changes.

Extraordinary wine! Excellent depth, good fruit on the palate, well balanced. A favorite of the lineup

1/6/22, 9:46 PM - Drank from a 750mL bottle. Opened approximately 7 hours prior to dinner/tasting event. Upon opening, poured into decanter, rinsed bottle of sediment (there was a lot), and immediately poured back into bottle. Left open for 4 hours, then corked bottle for remaining 3. Upon reflection, could have benefitted from even more decanting time.
