Sensational, albeit tight. Purity and persistence of red fruit is breathtaking.

Open, decant, wait 4 hours , be rewarded. Well integrated, not a great nose but super smooth leather and fruit. Italian , Italian , Italian.

After about an hour of being open this wine could best be described as very good Italian. Super easy to drink , backbone and tannins were very integrated into the wine , the nose was not in your face barolo but rather just a part of a smooth wine. I was expecting more from the bottle, the power that others have described just wasn't there for me, but it was still very nice.

Green apple nose, well made hi-end Cali in your mouth, a little tangy, tasty, not at the level of my last bottle. About half this bottle was vaccu’d up , 8 days later ; no tangy, maybe a little less multi dimensional, but very good.

Listened to the comments and decanted this for an hour. A very tannic wine that could argue is still coming out of its shell. The red fruit dominates and does not let much else to show . Drank a chambolle from Barthod next to it and highlighted the difference in wine making. Though I prefer the elegance of Burgundy the pure force of this went well with our steaks,

2015 Domaine Courbis Cornas Les Eygats Syrah
Not impressed, maybe a bit young to consume but the wine does not offer much complexity and the finish was fairly thin and slightly dry on the palate.

Was originally quite excited to try it based on a few reviews and it is a small one hectare, single-vineyard wine - Cornas Les Eygats site is situated at a relatively high 250 meters of altitude. The vines are 20 years old.

11/18/18, 5:33 AM - I have heard that these 2015 wines are best to lay down 2-4 years from now before drinking.

Some fruit bombs are thrown by terrorists. Others are meant to explode on the scene and remind us how bold and bodacious American wine can be - without causing collateral damage. Full-throated and uncompromising, this Zin had all the requisite spicy fruit and stand-up-straight backbone to take on my Cuban-style Turkey and cornbread/chorizo stuffing on Thanksgiving. We'd worked our way from Mr. Jordan's Occidental Ridge Pinot, and it was a fine ride. Drink up, it's a new Day.

Red wine , fruit... hard to find any Pinot nose or taste . Better as it opened more , wouldn't have guessed Pinot at any point . No idea what is going on here .

Drinking beautifully now. Our last bottle but I'd guess well stored there may be 3-5 years or more. No winner or loser between this and the 1994 leoville we also opened at Grifone in NYC. I just keep wondering- I really needed to start collecting 15 years before I wanted to drink these . Why didn't I learn this in school?
