Medium dark red; red cherries, some light tobacco; nice sweet rounded attack with quite some acidity, rank and elegant - no heavy power here, some licorice at the end, also quite mild tannic ending, perhaps a bit on the neutral side with limited flavours and nuances

Love the style; powerful with finesse; blueberry, light smoke, sweet inviting aftertaste

Dark red with brick red hue; deep red fruit, lots of vanilla; rich, rounded, deep, smooth, nice long aftertaste; really well made; I have often been disappointed with PS (too powerful and harsh), but this one is singing

11/21/20, 4:49 PM - I believe it is in its prime window now

A bit thin and acidic, some nice fruity taste beneath, ok but that’s it

3/12/20, 10:21 PM - Not sure if it will ever unfold, however I would at least give it a few more years, so it has a chance.

Red
2008 Fratelli Brovia Barolo Ca'mia Nebbiolo

Medium dark red; lovely fruity nose with some licorice and pepper; lovely sweet and well-balanced attack, rounded with an edge, soft tannins; nice lingering aftertaste; excellent

Lean and somewhat closed nose; pointed, slightly tannic, sweetish, nice depth; long aftertaste; very nice with good potential. Currently requires a couple of hours to open up.

5/5/14, 8:04 AM - To me, 2008 Bordeaux in general seems not to have closed down. I have enjoyed many different bottles with pleasure during both 2012 and 2013. Difficult to judge their cellaring potential, but probably no need to hurry, while, as said, most are also quite enjoyable already now. I have not tasted the Branaire-Ducru since my note in 2011 and will probably hold back for a couple of more years

Medium dark red; open nose with lots of ripe dark berries, dense, intense; somewhat on the lean side, tannic, lots of licorice, a bit acidic; nice long aftertaste; nose and taste not quite in sync, perhaps starting to close down?
  • Miceri commented:

8/26/13, 11:03 AM - It was good, but in my opinion starting to shut down. In general, I like young CdPs and typically "test" them at this stage, but after 4 or 5 years most shut down to revive again after 10+ years. I find 07 and 09 deep, intense and for the long haul, but they have also been excellent in their young age. Haven't tasted 07 for quite some time and will start to hold back on the 09s, while enjoying younger CdPs, 08, 06, 04 and older
