Waxy with a lot of viscous on the mouth feel, a fading chard with some life left. No trace of vanilla or oak as it did in it' youth a bit of citrus. DRINK NOW no readon to hold on any longer

Flat bottom decant for 90 minutes. Integrated dark plum fruit with very little tannin. As mentioned below, nothing like the youthful fruity Syrahs of Carlisle in the early release years. But showed well at a dinner wth 06 Lillian Blue Label

Tasted with 06 Carlisle Bennet Syrah and Lillian 06 Syrah. Opened for breathing with a bit poured off for about an hour. The Pinot Noir character was immediately recognized at the table by casual drinkers. Aging well but definitely aging. Enjoy now unless your preference is for aged RM style

I like these aged. I imagine in thier youth they are bright and possibly have a spritz, but as an older wine they are still tangy, lemony and have the acid no the back to hold up to our pairing of tomatoe, fish and cream sauces.
Drink away before summer ends

Nice aged white that carries itself as more than tired chardonnay. It has anise, lemon back drop slight oak and paired with small plates featuring various fosh and veggies, more than held up. Most of the dishes were high in acid and this cut it nicely. I dont know that I would purposelly age thislonger, but if you have one, chill it ad feel free to drink it.

Perfect spot. Popped, poured a glass , slightly tight, not musty. Started drinking the rest an hour later and it is in the perfect place. Syrah esrthiness is fading and if you want that component, this may not be for you. However if you want a smooth drinking integrated wine that holds up to food like grilled meat this will serve you well this fall/winter

Gave this a long ( 2hrs) decant in a big flat bottomed decanter. The wine was paired with a rib eye and did a fine job. Not much fruit, but nice leather, tobacco and slight pepper. Not robust or youthful however, and I therefore fear this wine might be approaching its end.

Opened and tasted, earthy and muted. Put in a small bottomed decanter for 1.5 hours, then poured back into the bottle for transport to a restaurant Starting to show brown on the edges, but the decant allowethe fruit to come out, along with some spiciness. Not as rustic as other older Italians and therefore we believe it can go for a few more years, but if you are looking for a ready to drink nw, especially for the fall winter, when heartier red sauces and brown met are more prevalent, this will work well

Opened and let breath for 90 min. Definitely softened the wine, still a very big wine with plenty of life left. Paired with sliced ribeye and mushrooms. The earth of the mushroom and the lead Syrah character of this wine worked well together. The window in CT says we are at the end of this drinking window. I'm not sure that's correct, but I will definitely check another of my bottles in the fall. I recommend you do the same.

opened and aired for an hour. First glass was kinda flat and we expressed some concern. Drank the rest with a seasoned Rib Eye ad the flavor was greatly enhanced by the steak. i would not say that the wine needed more time but this bottle seemed to find the right spot integration wise along with a steak. The tannins have softened and it held texture and mouth feel while still offering Cabernet depth . Upon looking at our previous experience with this wine, I recommend drinking soon and pair with red meat

Last 750 of the lot. Still have a magnum, sowed a slight sign of fading versus other bottles freshness but on it's own, it had a terrific nose on opening. Slightly rustic in the mouth, that Syrah iron/ferrous taste I seem to find was likely the cause. Enjoyed with hamburgers and the burger fat was perfect for the wine. Saved some for the next day and it was soft and fruity. Definitely still good to go. Not sure it has a full year more but if you don't drink now, pull them out next fall)/winter

Left to open for two or three hours with just a small amount removed (audouze method). Fading on initial smell or taste but held up very nicely to hamburgers and I am looking forward to having younger Petite Syrah and Petite Sirah with burgers again soon .

From half bottle, decanted for three hours. Still needs time, nice flavor coming through and tannins are beginning to soften but we are not necessarily seeing the fruit forwardness of some 07's and likely will end up with a beautiful wine with time

A bit too fruit forward at this point in the aging process. I was looking for a bit more depth. I imagine this should mean the wine will age longer but I don't see where integration of tannin or oak is co m.k ing from at this point. A good drinking wine just a bit lighter than I was expecting both from Rivers Marie and a 2007

Pop and pour. First 07 RM for us very smooth, almost too smooth. After initial taster, paired with a NY Strip. Held it's own and was even better than the first glass without the steak. However the lack of tannins keeps the wine from a higher score. Drink now as integration is complete and the wine will not get any better but is in a great spot now

Food and Wine magazine got this one right. It killed with Thanksgiving appetizers and held upon well with Turkey. Golden color and buttery mouth feel, I felt honeysuckle and a slight hint of golden rod made this a terrific choice for tonight.

Time to drink. fruit is fully integrated and tannins are softened. Unless you are a fan f the next stage of Syrah, when fruit is a bit stewed, drink this between now and the upcoming holidays.
You can thank me later
That being said, wine is delicious and drinking it now will be rewarding because the mouthfeel is delicious and the flavor show blueberry, a hint of zest and subtle oak. What is lacking in youthfulness and freshness is instead replaced by a perfectly ready 11 year old Syrah
