Red
Very good and definitely no rush, plenty of primary fruit still there, some interesting secondary characteristics - probably too muscular for me but that's not the wines fault - will wait a couple of years at least before the next one to see if more tertiary characters evolve
Red
Feint fruit and secondary characters on the nose, wonderful savoury blackcurrant fruit is still there and holding in well, plenty of earth, leather and brambles adding complexity - acid is still there in the back, persistent length and a joy to drink - will hold for a while I think - beautiful and 4.5 fingers
Red
20 minute decant - Lovely nose of violets, leather and earth - beautiful blue fruit to the fore with firm oak supporting it - secondary characters then coming through with a lingering finish and resolved tannins - for me drinking perfectly although on it's downward slope with no rush

Red
Stunning, Romanee in nature light, pretty but with earth undertones - a complete wine - can't see it improving but no rush either
Red
No real movement from last note - nice, polished and probably at it 's peak
Red
Only a short decant to remove sediment, initially a bit lean but filled out nicely within the hour. Nose of cedar some star anise with red/black fruits, lovely soft blackcurrant fruit fading to red, fine powdery tannins - good weight with spice and good acid and quality but unobtrusive oak keeping everything in check - a real class act and a big step up from the normal cab - would say this is still building - very good

Red
No Proper note as drunk with friends over dinner but very good with plenty of time left
White
Pear and hints of Kero on the nose then Lime, Pear, Orange Peel and spice, acid is restrained and sherbet like with a long lingering finish. Really lovely drinking now and no rush at all.
Red
Really lovely, nose is feint mushrooms, cherry and star anise - Dusty tannins, lightly macerated cherries, touches of forest floor with splashes of acid still there and a lingering finish. Great combination of pretty fruit with earth notes - 4 fingers and very happy
Red
Nose of earth, cedar, meat and feint blackcurrant - feint blackjack like fruit to the fore, plenty of fine dusty tannins with lovely length and fine splashes of acid - was overpowered to some extent by the roast lamb we had it with but on it's own an elegant example of coonawarra cab - probably on it's downward slope but will hang around for a few years yet 3.5 fingers
Red
Lovely, soft red cherry nose - fruit is still fleshy but some secondary earth coming through. Nice oak and spice with splashes of acid. Good balance and at our just past it's peak. May start to come apart over the next few years but an absolute pleasure now
Red
2010 Torbreck RunRig Barossa Valley Shiraz Blend, Syrah (view label images)
Took a while to open up, then black fruit and spice on the nose - silky blackberry fruit with fine powdery tannins, good intensity and length with quality oak, alcohol pokes out a bit but otherwise very nice
Red
Smoke and dark red cherries on the nose, some vanilla, cherries and spice - good acid and length balance everything out - initially thought it stayed too much into cola territory but came good and was very enjoyable - would be interesting to see what more time does
Red - Fortified
Definitely starting to fade but lovely secondary characters coming through
Red
Quite lovely, perhaps a bit heavy and funky to start but with a bit of air really came together to show elegance, length and lovely dark fruit with bramble undertones and touches of spice
Red
Really good, some sap and macerated cherries on the nose, ripe cherries / red & blue fruits, well judged oak giving a savoury edge and lovely length - possibly on the downward slope but no rush 3.5 fingers
Red
Stunning, Initially lifted red fruit with touches of resin and then moving to light forest floor. Fruit is still there and in a lovely mature spot, super fine dusty tannins with perfect acid and oak giving a long smooth finish - structure and beauty - probably on the downward slope but who cares - 5 fingers and an absolute pleasure

Red
Didn't decant and took a bit of air to settle down, nose some VA, deep red/purple fruit - almost plum like, lovely sour cherries and weight of fruit - great acid that supports rather than overtakes and a nice hint of brambles - possibly starting to fade a bit but very enjoyable and no immediate rush
Red
Totally Burgundy, feint cherries, forest floor and some mushroom on the nose - delicate red / blue fruit, nice weight and balance and then a touch of stalky savoury character - super fine powdery tannins - probably at it's peak but no rush - 4 out of 5 - very enjoyable

Red
Very good - Classic coonawarra nose - mint, redfruit and with a touch of brambles - great mix of red and black fruit, acid is there but you can't see it giving wonderful length - the structure is absolutely superb - ultra fine powdery tannins but still with weight - drinking beautifully but still plenty of time - will still develop interest for another 5 years at least - 4 fingers
Red
Dainty old girl, nose of mushrooms and blue fruit, undergrowth first but immediately followed by lovely blue fruit touches of spice around the edges and then a lingering splash of acid with the fruit coming back at the end -really quite special and drinking superbly - can't see it improving from here but wouldn't have thought any rush either
White
Some Kero and marinated orange peel on the nose, lovely texture with burst of spritzy acid, citrus peel and some honey, great length and persistence and no rush
Red
Nose of undergrowth and hints of blue fruit, lovely blue fruit with some stems and splashes of acid, a well rounded wine and probably at it's peak
White
White fruit nose, lovely texture, green pear, nice line of acid wax / lanolin - good length - lovely harmonious wine and no rush
Red
2012 Katnook Estate The Caledonian Cabernet/Shiraz Coonawarra Cabernet-Shiraz Blend, Red Blend (view label images)
15 minute decant primarily to remove sediment, dusty mulberries on the nose and some pot pourri - plenty of black fruit with some lovely sweetness, super fine powdery tannins lovely line of integrated acid and oak adds a nice bit of spice filling the mouth - good length and drinking - not sure of the life given the fine tannins but willing to take a punt to see where this goes
Red
Initially quite closed all structure and no fruit but given time lovely blue fruit came through giving a very complete wine - perhaps in future I should consider decanting these
Red
Blackberry, mint and brambles on the nose, nice cassis fruit that may be starting to fade, good oak that wraps around it and a nice finish that carries the fruit through - probably not strong enough for the long haul but a very pleasant cabernet now

Red
Nose Blueberries, touches of lavender and Brambles, rich red and blue fruit, savoury tannins wrapping around it with a lingering finish that shows a hint of oak - very good and should develop further
Red
In a lovely place, blue cheese and red fruit on the nose - touches of damp earth and cherries, wonderful tannins, good mouthfeel with a lingering finish with splashes of acid and spice - starting it's way down but drinking superbly - very good
Red
Pretty nose, violets, some liqourice - elegant and restrained blue fruits, the acid for me is perhaps a touch too much detracting from the restrained nature - still elegant and probably a product of the vintage
White
Quite developed in colour, nose of Almonds and Bananas - lovely texture with butterscotch to the front then followed by honeydew melon and a fine sherbet like acid - drinking beatifully and probably at it's peak but no rush.
Red
Cherries and some lavender on the nose, beautiful supple texture with velvety tannins giving way to delicate red fruits with a lingering hint of spice and acid at the end - drinking excellently and whilst I see now rush it should continue in this window for a while
Red
Excellent example of Coonawarra Cab, 1 hour decant - nose cigar box, eucalypt & touch of fruit - lovely powdery tannins, followed by a fading but firm line of acid and then wrapped with blackjack fruit with touches of oak around it - really very good and to my mind no rush at all
Red
Excellent example of Coonawarra Cab, 1 hour decant - nose cigar box, eucalypt & touch of fruit - lovely powdery tannins, followed by a fading but firm line of acid and then wrapped with blackjack fruit with touches of oak around it - really very good and to my mind no rush
Red
Kirsche and some arrowroot on the nose, lovely soft marello cherry, wrapped around a tingling spine of acid and then hints of oak and spice - a well balanced pinot for Otago although perhaps the acid is poking out slightly - still very enjoyable and no rush
White
Candy Floss nose, then lovely ripe melon / white peach fruit followed by a searing line of lime sherbet acid - oak adds weight and texture but not intrusive - excellent and should age superbly - look again in 5 years
Red
Quite wonderful, resin, cherries and sous bois on the nose, then sweet dark cherry fruit, perfect acid and spice around the edges - absolutely at it's peak - very impressive
Red
Nice, plumb fruit soft tannins - perhaps a little one dimensional but pleasant enough - fruit is there so may wait a few years for the last one
Red
Simply stunning, totally integrated - a hint of camphor on the nose and then blue fruits - ultra fine tannins that are falling away - slight hints of acid around the edges but at it's core the most wonderful pale blue fruit - at it's peak or just past - best I've had in a while
White
Nose of Almonds and white stone fruit, buttery fruit, with nuts and then a lovely sherbet fizz from the acid that goes from front to back - perhaps the fruit is not good enough to be truly great but very enjoyable and should age further - be interesting to see where it goes.
Red
Only a short decant to start with, definitely a mistake as acid showed initially - after a couple of hours mulberry nose turning to liqourice, still has the lovely dusty fruit - acid has started to settle leaving fine powdery tannins with a long finish - will leave my last bottle for at least another 5 years and I'm sure it will go longer.
Red
Stunning - forest floor nose with macerated dark cherry, perfect mix of earth, blue and red fruits, touches of spice and acid - powdery tannins and wonderful persistance add - a reminder of why I love Gevrey =- my first 5 out of 5 in some time which is no mean feet for an average vintage

2 hour decant - Nose Primarily Cigar box and some liqourice - Big wall of fruit, powdery fine tannins and then plenty of oak - nice line of acid given an old style big wine that has years ahead - a guilty pleasure perhaps but one I enjoyed - will look again in 5-10 years

White
Lovley nose, struck match and some white blossom, serious structure, lovely mouthfeel with lanolin, nashi pear - acid and oak are in perfect harmony, lovely length finishing with a lick of lime - can't really fault it and plenty of upside from here - will look again in 2-3 years
Red
Stunning, impressive primary fruit still there tart cherry, some stems giving balance and a wonderful length - wouldn't pick this as 11 years old
