Very chunky but with the departing remnants of blueish black fruit. Still enjoyable if you late late stage wine.

Needed drinking up, chewy and broad. Very deep dark fruits brooding somewhere in there, but on the edge of not pleasant.

Interesting to have a bulgarian pinot, nose attractive but fruit dissipating.

Losing its vitality and entering a tertiary stage. Bottle not well stored but slightly disappointed. Fruit definitely drying out and not ageing evenly.

Straight forward wine, good cigar box but lacking distinctive fruit.

Initial nose led me to believe the wine was maderised, though I think it is the amount of oak. Still has vibrancy on palate through the limey acidity. Grew on me over five minutes in the glass, slightly too big a wine to be burgundy, but not far off.

Decanted too sooon before drinking (15 minutes). Still very taught wine with lots of development still to come. In glass softened over an hour but still remained composed. Firm fruits balanced well with tannins. Good wine. Will benefit from further cellaring.

Clear and fine, no visible browning, firm red fruits. Very together, still showing good concentration and hints of tertiary development, but still a way to go. Delightful bottle.

Incredible nose full of concentrated fruit and raisin. Christmas pudding thorugh the palate, no evidence of spirit. Amazingly complex and delightful. Drinking beautifully.

Amazing fruit on nose, very strong raisins. Spirit still coming through on nose and palate. Excellent wine, with plenty of time.

dirty nose as against the '70, lacking fruit. On palate lovely fruit but lacks layers and complexity of the '70. Needs drinking ahead of the '70

No browning at edges. Very quiet nose, not yet developed vegetal characters. Firm on palate and initially not well intergrated, tannins firm. Improved in the glass and softened (decanted one hour before) but disappointed this wasn't more burgundy-like and developed.

slight browning at edges, delicate and developing vegetal nose. Very light on palate with strong cherry characteristics. Slight acidity. Began to deteriorate after half an hour in glass (decanted one hour before). Needs drinking.

Superb pencil shavings on nose, delightful approach and perfect balance. Perfect now.

Amazing blackcurrant on nose, not developed tertiary characteristics yet. Youthful on palate and tannins remain firm. Drinking beautifully but still has time to be at its best.

Very light in colour, almost clear. Nose very subtle as against Leflaive's C-C from 97. Still got good acidity and fruit. Very elegant wine but not as impressive as its price would suggest. First bottle opened had fallen apart, this bottle was fine.

Deep golden appearance, initial mustiness on nose, but developed to a sticky fruit. Very big wine, layers of flavour. Better with food (crab salad worked well). On plateau if not approaching its descent, drink up.

Decanted into a small necked decanter shortly before drinking due to nervousness about over-maturity. Slightly dry nose but classic cedar impression, raised expectation that bottle might be OK. On the palate dry approach but a fantastic core of fruit; a surprising amount of black fruit. Remained together for the half hour in decanter and glass. Tannins present but soft, not drying. Very pleased and surprised how well it held together given the dubious vintage. Needs drinking but will hold for another 18+ months if you like your wines mature.

I had high expectations of this wine but it disappointed amongst a half dozen other cab sauvs. Bottle had been doubel decanted three hours before dinner. Wine is well balanced between approach and mid palate and has depth but was unremarkable neither having claret sophistication or languedoc power. In summary it seemed a displaced wine. Looking forward to trying the next with a less jaded palate.

Corked. Fruit felt strong but covered by the dry nose.

against big wines it came across as burgundian in the complexity of the nose, definite red fruits. Expected more acidity on attack but together and splendid length on palate. Fruit still very present and harmonious. Delighted.
