November 3, 2017 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Germany and Oregon (Asperg): Clear, medium golden color. Clean, medium+ intense, youthful-developing nose with astonishing flavors of tropical and exotic fruit (lots of passion fruit), pineapple mixed with stony mineral notes. Really nice perfume!
Dry, with a medium+/high ripe acidity that gives this wine a wonderful structure and vibrancy. 13% abv. Medium body, medium+ intense flavors of ripe exotic fruit and mineral notes. Long, vibrant finish. Very good Riesling that is very young and has a bright future ahead and will certainly improve over time. 92++

November 3, 2017 - Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: From southern Germany to Oregon Pinot (Private Location): The first GG Jochen Beurer made out of this site. The years before the fruit went into the “Junge Schwaben” bottling as far as I know.
Tropical, exotic fruit notes like pineapple, mango and papaya with a bit of whipped cream but also a wet stone component dominates the complex nose. You really could feel the ripeness but it’s absolutely not overripe. Just picked at the right time. Striking acidity (vintage) on the palate, lots of minerals, the fruit is also there but just beautifully interwoven. Long, vibrant finish with great focus.
This is still my favourite Riesling out of Württemberg, no doubt. Unfortunately my only bottle. Need to get my hands on some 2014s. The cooler vintages should work better here imo. I think here is still lots of potential left and this GG will reach its peak in about 2-4 years. My rating might look a bit high but I have to support my locals. :)

October 11, 2016 - With ample air, this is a complete dry GG. Long streaks of crystalline fruit with a very long stone finish. Outstanding.

February 19, 2016 - Has that crazy tropical pineapple nose that I love on off-dry riesling. Still not very sweet and has great minerality and structure. Didn't knock my socks off like their other single vineyard wines (especially when factoring in price), but still very enjoyable.

February 26, 2015 - GG Tasting (Schäfer-Fröhlich, Christmann, Wagner-Stempel, Schnaitmann, Beurer) (Carpe Noctem Wein Göppingen): Nose: A "cooler" nose than the two GGs from Schnaitmann, more refined, elegant style. Lovely yellow stone fruit mixed with a great mineral component.
Palate: Amazing concentration & acidity, appeals very light and again more on the "cool" side. More tension & power than Schnaitmann. Nice salty component on the long finish. Still potential left.
I never thought that such a good Riesling could be made in Württemberg. Outperforming Schnaitmanns GGs by far. Beurer is a rising stare for this region, take a look on him its worth it!
