December 25, 2023 - Day 1: Laser beam of tart raspberry, high acid, med tannin, lip smacking and clenched up tight, even after 1.5 hours’ decant. 13% Alc.
Day 2: More open and inviting but this is still a glass of sour red cherry fruit. Today with an almost floral perfume in the mouth, reductive gunflint notes (?) and a nice briary stemmy-ness.
Theres pleasure to be had here, but you need to pay attention to taste it. Went well with grilled lamb.
If this bottle is representative, then I’d suggest hold until 2028-2030 to revisit. The stiff backbone of acid and tannin make this a long-aging wine.1 person found this helpful Comment -

October 21, 2023 - Unfortunately my last bottle, beautiful pairing with Chinese 5 spice pork leg and braised greens. Took an hour in the decanter to come alive. Lot’s of juicy black and red fruit. Long sweet finish. Emerging trademark Musigny oolong or black tea. Amazing for the weaker ‘13 vintage. Still tannic, drink this now with air or hold. 94-95/100

March 19, 2023 - Addictive nose. It’s still a baby but felt approachable.
Red cherries, Saline & savory.
A lot of the 13s have acidity on the higher side. While this wasn’t over the top, it was still ok the higher side. -

April 24, 2022 - Bottle 5/6. This was a little less powerful and a little softer than prior bottles, probably because of the more extended aeration we gave it, or just bottle variation in the difficult ‘13 vintage. Still enjoyable: muted nose not getting any of that black tea reduction though soft red fruit and hints of stem on the palate. 93-94

April 9, 2022 - So fresh and pretty! Juicy and already quite expressive on the nose and palate at this stage. Love it!
