January 20, 2024 - Dinner at Wimborne. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Thin legs. Bubbles.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of fresh brioche, apple and pear, ripe peach, heady florals veering to the sickly sort. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet pear, sweet green apples, gummy bear, jellybean, Muscat grapes. Medium+ finish.
Very unique champagne is what I must say. Pinot Blanc, Petit Meslier, Arbane. Disgorged 05/23. Dosage 5g/L!
Very different from the 2021 and 2022 disgorgement which I tried before and which were both zero dosages.

October 7, 2023 - Saturday night Laksa party at Wimborne. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
    Disgorged 07/22. Zero dosage.
50% Pinot Blanc, 45% Petit Meslier, 5% Arbane.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Very fine bubbles.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of citrus lime, stony minerals, brioche, fennel, bit of soda, bit of green and yellow apple. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, medium- alcohol (12%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of green apple, citrus lime, strong vein of stony minerality, brioche. Bit of soda to the medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Refreshing starter champ. Not as sizzling and less soda than the 2021 disgorgement. Goes down easier.

April 22, 2023 - Bienvenue a Champagne; 4/20/2023-4/29/2023 (Les Crayeres, various restaurants, Les Avises and a many wonderful producers): Alas the Bereche was sold out and so we ended up with this instead. A winery that I like and that is certainly getting more and more popular with folks but somehow hasn’t totally wow’ed me yet. I’d say this was in that same category. Well made champagne. Enjoyable. Good pairing for seafood (we were at Le Bocal in champagne so that was important). Lighter style of bubbles and easier drinking esp compared to what we’d had at lunch.

February 13, 2023 - Wow, this impressed. I didn't know what to expect after a slightly funky and rustic Echappée Belle that I didn't really care for, but this was surprisingly fruity and still tensile enough to feel a bit muscular. A lovely surprise from these quirky heirloom varieties, I would gladly drink more!

September 2, 2022 - White and champagne theme: 2018 base, 2021 disgorgement. Others liked this more than I did, it had a lot of exotic and tropical yellow fruit, but didn't quite have the drive and acidity that I like in champagnes. With the mix of forgotten grapes it was definitely interesting to try, but think I might prefer the Maladries which sounds more classically built.
