August 22, 2020 - It is soft but showed pretty apricot and mineral notes and just hinted at sweetness. Has aged nicely despite its short finish.

August 1, 2018 - Dinner at MingHin (Chicago, IL): The nose here is just slightly funky, in the way old riesling tends to be. In a perfect window for the secondary characteristics, with a good dose of petrol, but this hasn't lost its fruit yet either. There are also some really nice herbal elements here; would have loved to pick up a little more acidity and cut. It's a very gentle wine.

June 10, 2012 - Popped and poured. Color straw. Nose mostly secondary with TDN and white fruits superimposed on caramel and roasted nuts. On palate this has impeccable balance between lighter weight fruit and acidity. Finish is clean and medium length. In a great place right now but definitely has years ahead.

July 1, 2011 - Incredibly pure and fresh, seamlessly combining bright Mosel fruit with a vivid slatiness and faint herbal and creamy flavour elements. It's a little reticent at first but opens out beautifully with air, lovely wine with the stuffing and balance to last a lot longer.

November 21, 2009 - Opened along side of a '99 Domprobst and paired with sauteed frog legs. This wine showed more minerality, petrol and acidity than the Domprobst and seemed to continue to develop complexity the longer opened. The Domprobst showed as a much younger wine with more primary fruit and did not change as much but it also had ample acidity. Both were great pairings for the frog legs.
