  January 31, 2023 - Fresh garnet-red/purple color; red fruits on the nose (no plum or purple fruit here); on the palate there is cherry and tart cranberry, with a nice long, piquant finish. Grand Cru weight and heft. I have no idea who owns these vines, but they are obviously well tended. This could challenge any Echezeaux in the vintage and has 15 to 20 years of enjoyable drinking ahead.

  January 16, 2020 - Flickinger Customer Appreciation Tasting (Casino Club - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Good red fruit with spice hints and good balance. Just not close to Grand Cru density or nuance (yet?). Fun and easy, but I don't see the upside.

The nose was intact, but the palate was pretty thin, especially considering that it was from a year that I would have considered a dense one. Other 2005's that I've opened have been drinking well of late, but this one seemed upside-down and under-fruited. We drank through the bottle over a couple of nights and this one never seemed to wake up. Judgement withheld.
