July 12, 2023 - Burg vs Barolo Night (Meatsmith Telok Ayer): Pale ruby core with significant browning and fading on edges. Ripe red cherry on the nose and a hint of violets, and slight greens. Started off rather floral and elegant, then lands off quite red fruited with ripe cherry, and quite briny and savoury. Great length, and pretty complex

February 18, 2022 - Pronounced nose with noses of ripe red fruits and red berries, fig. Very perfumed. Medium+ acidity and tannin. Tannin is harsh for Pinot. Still very youthful.

November 29, 2021 - Having tasted a 2009 Gevrey Chambertin just last week I was hoping this would be a similarly positive experience.

Unfortunately I was let down by the lack of concentration and balance. This wine was extremely pale ruby, which hinted to its character.

On the nose, candied raspberry with a hint of cotton candy. On the palate, very dry with high acidity, amounting to a rather mouth-puckering experience. Simple red fruit with chalky tannins, no perceptible oak and not much complexity, perhaps due to the sourness masking most flavours. Medium length finish.

I expected more from a 1er cru Chambolle Musigny, even though this bottle was very reasonably priced.

January 8, 2016 - One hour after tasting, not enough fruit. I have typically not been impressed with the 08 vintage

March 14, 2015 - Really enjoyed this taut and terroir-driven red Burg. Pretty cherry fruit with lovely mineral notes and wonderful succulence and grip on the finish. Very Chambolle in it's ethereal elegance and great with the roasted duck at Jungsik, NYC.
