Sunday, October 30, 2022 - Four hour decant. Deep dark, yet bright, magenta color. Plum, raspberry, Russian tea cake, blueberry, almond extract, and peony on the nose. There are also subtle notes of truffle, mushroom, and dark chocolate. Smooth, tongue drying palate, with satiny acidity. Full, round, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.

This kept improving over an hour of drinking. It’s complex, demure, and refined. Very much a Bordeaux-leaning Napa Cab, but only in good ways. This is as good as you can do at this price.

10/31/2022 4:47:00 AM - The ‘16 really needs four hours. I had ‘18, ‘15, ‘13, and ‘10 relatively recently, but don’t remember the prep. Cheers Michael!

10/31/2022 2:58:00 PM - I like them all, but of course they are all in different stages! Overall, this is as good as you can do in Napa, at this price, totally agree J!

10/31/2022 10:17:00 PM - Awesome, loads of info helping us out here. Thanks AG and commenters for expanding. If one likes age on wine, does it seem safe to hold these 16s for a few years? Cheers, Danny

11/1/2022 1:25:00 AM - Completely safe to hold a few more years. I had a ‘10 earlier this year and it was very nice, albeit past its peak for my palate (review is here in CT). Cheers Vinomazing!
