Sunday, August 27, 2023 - Dinner with Tom & Deb Mortimer of Le Cadeau (COV, Edina, MN): Light gold color. Drank a glass over an hour. Same bottle JCGuthrie. Green apple, bright, baking spice, primary, and bold acidity. Drinks nicely, but needs a couple years to truly shine. 92(+)pts.

    9/16/2023 9:45:00 AM - Not sure if this is correct, but I feel Pol needs a few more years in bottle versus others of the matching vintage. I tried one of my 08's and it was boring. Is that because it's all stainless steel fermentation?

    10/10/2023 8:08:00 PM - I'm not sure that is unique to Pol Roger. I think that in general most need a few years in bottle before showing really well. But it all also really hinges on the vintage too. But as rule, I tend to say give them all a few years.
