90 Points

Saturday, April 17, 2010 - Reminded me of the Mollydooker of white wines. OK, maybe it wasn't that bad. Gorgeous nose of buttered lychee and flowers. Intoxicating nose. In the mouth, an absolutely massive attack. Shocked me at first the shear power of the wine. Tons of exotic fruit with some good spiciness of clove and green pepper to back it up. The problem I had with this wine is that after 2 glasses, I was toast. Very high alc (15% as advertised, wouldn't be surprised if it was higer even still...), massive glycerine mouthfeel, which is slightly appealing, but after your first glass, it gets to be a little much. Can't drink more than one glass at a time. Almost dessert wine like. Not necessarily sweet, but you do get a bit of RS, but it is balanced very nicely, but just seems too high on the alcohol to really have more than one glass. Fantastic experience though. First time ever having an Italian Gewurz and it certainly started off with a bang.
