Wednesday, July 14, 2021 - 2021 Bordeaux Tasting Trip; 7/12/2021-7/16/2021 (Bordeaux): A Bordeaux tasting in Bordeaux of 71 wines, some of the best I have ever had and others umm well disappointing. If you read the Tasting story (and my grading history) I think it will do a much better job putting this in perspective.

This was tasted at the chateau with the 2018. First and foremost I cannot thank Lea enough for her time, honesty transparency and passion she shared with us throughout. I am a big fan of MSE now that I know a lot more in-depth about the wine - and it was the best 2011 I have ever had and honestly the only one I would look forward to drinking and would buy.

The other 2011s tasted on this trip paled greatly in comparison. This wine had it all, and I would never have guessed 2011 Margaux or 2011 in general.

It is in a perfect window for my palate with plenty of fruit and secondary flavors that just started the beginning notes of tertiary flavors with velvety tannins. Great wine right now with minimal decant (quick decant or let it open in the glass).

I think it has been plagued by much inconsistency through the years, many of them just so-so.........not sure why they haven't been more consistent. In their good years they are quite good!
