Tawny coloured, medium intensity. Mature, medium(+) nose dominated of dark chocolate and raisins, spiced with bay leaves. A light perfumed toucht added after a while. On the palate a touch of sweetness, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannins, finely teared and rounded, full bodied. 13,5%. Mature, fresh flavours dominated by dark dried fruit, raisins and dark chocolate. Very long aftertaste, dominated by raisins, with a finely textured afterfeel. Pleasant maturity, with thick and chewy mouthfeel. Very nice.

Decanted 2 hrs (a bit too short). Dense blackish red, paling edge. Medium+ bq w tar, black fruit (cherry, currant), stone dust, liquorice, some medicinal notes. Very structured with prominent tannins, high acidity, black fruits. Aftertaste medium, almost adstringent. Will last longer.

Developed nose with some dried fruit, figs, prunes, dried apples but also fresh blackcurrant, blackberries and cherries. There is some smoky oakyness, a bit of rubber and perfume. Dry on the palate with distinct, but rather plesant tannins. There is still plenty of fruitiness, and it feels like the wine is in a good stage right now. No point in keeping, drink up.

Colore rosso rubino molto inteso, con nuance viola all' unghia.

Youthful colour with a purple tinge. The nose is really nice, meaty, showing roasted tones, scorched earth, along with rosemary, plums and cherries. The palate is a little more slender than I expected, medium-bodied with good acidity, moderate tannin, and a smoky, beefy taste wrapping a core of plum and cherries. Some herbs as well. The oak is well integrated but makes itself reminded in some sips. Quite "Italian" in style, well balanced and calling for a nice, juicy steak. This wine should age well for another 2-3 years at least.

This is either a chamelion or this is a strong case of "me-variation"...
Still a rustic wine that delivers a lot of umpa-umpa. However, now completely without that nasty rubber boot. Fruit has "mended" and it delivers around 92p, especially if you enjoy South Italian rusicity.
A cherry twang surrounded by really enjoyable, coarse tannins. Perfectly balancing acids. Yay!

Everyone's favourite during the first glass. Married food and the evening's ambiance. However, as the evening went by, fruit fell apart and ALOTTA rubber-soles entered the center stage.
Dark red. Nose: blood oranges extravaganza with jasmine flowers on a dark foundation of tar and smoked meats. Very attractive, big and makes you want to drink it. Palate: M+++ tannins, M acids in a coarse and rustic expression. Quite loveable and GREAT with anything meat and garlic. M+ body and ok length. Not particularily complex, but has high-level umpa-umpa. Fruit fell apart after some hrs and there emerged a nasty rubber-boot aroma...
The wine to start with: 91p. After a few hrs: 81p.

Rustic, rich, dark fruited, splendid oak and just simply: a lot of wine for the money. Early drinking window, but already quite enjoyable. Last btl of two before or around 2020.

Half bottle with dinner in Venice. Oaky nose, full bodied red. I agree with the previous reviewer (PSPATRICK) that it is a good value. Excellent complexity fruit spice and autumnal flavors a pleasant nose like rolling in a pile of dry leaves.

Fight 6, Central and Southern Italy, Wine 7 (blind): Finally we seem to be getting to the good stuff! The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered dark berries, dark cherry, prune, coffee, chocolate, some tobacco and roasted notes on the nose. On the palate the medium- to full-bodied wine showed cherry, plum, coffee, chocolate, tea and some balsamic notes, paired with medium-plus acidity, high fine, dry, grippy tannin and very good length. The oak was quite present on the nose and palate, but well integrated and by no means overbearing. A great wine and a spectacular QPR at EUR 16.-

Not sure about the provenance, but this felt borderline cooked, like a ripasso. Raisiny and balsamic notes dominate the nose, cooked fruit stew then battle sharp acidity on the palate. Overripe and too young at the same time. Nope. I used to loved the Feudi wines that Oddbins introduced to the UK in the 90s, but judging by this specimen, I'm not so sure. Maybe poor storage.
Quite a lot of toasty oak on the nose - charred wood, chocolate and fudge, a bit like a modern yummy dark-fruity merlot. Better on the palate, with fresh acidity, nice fruit and a distinct tannic grip. Works really well with entrecôte frites bearnaise, and not bad afterwards either. Yet, in comparison 2005 is a better version. Glad to have a few bts left of that one.

Den känns knuten från start. Både doft och smak är svåra att bena ut. Öppnar upp lite med tiden och det kommer fram en del röda bär och fattoner. Bra syra och tanniner som inte är för aggressiva.

ChTR kokous 17.05.2012 (Annen ja Kimmon luona): Popped and poured, tasted double blind. I liked this a lot, perhaps my wine of the night. Lots of cherry, lots of tannins, elegant, a very nice wine which I should get some of for my cellar.

The nose showed intense tart cherry with earth and wild herbs. On the palate, it was full-bodied with velvety black fruits and a tannic structure that lurked into the finish where tart fruit lingers for over 30 seconds. Very enjoyable, but in need of a few years to really show its potential.

Moreller, tjære, tobakk, lær. Mye tannin som nesten overkjører frukten. Kraftig, lang, men litt ubalansert. Trenger luft.
