Medium red color. Aromas of black cherries, leather, tobacco and wood spices. Ripe, fully integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Very full and suave on the palate. At peak.

Saturday afternoon drinking with friends. 3 hour decant. Not much nose at first but the flavor profile was very nice with dark red fruits, earth, leather and minerals. Lots of fine tannins, good mouthfeel and long finish. At around the 5 hour mark the nose blossomed. My 2nd favorite out of the 4 bottles. Really nice brunello that has years of cellar life left.

My last bottle. Slow oxed for 8 hrs then into a decanter for a few more. This does not look like a 15 year old wine. Dark as molasses. The nose opens with a hefty dose of charcoal and then the fruits start to shine. Beautiful mouthful of dark bitter cherries, candied fruit, bit of tar & orange rind. It seems that this still has a long life in front of it. Great with smoked Turkey.

Deep garnet, with significantly browning and fading edges, highly viscous and extracted. Aromas of ripe blackberry, and black cherry, dried grass and leaf compost, moss, fungals, nutmeg. Tannic and fairly weighty, with intense dried grass flavours and fairly ripe blackberry, savoury herbs, and quite a bit of alcohol heat welling up. Fair length at the back

As always, air is needed for a few hours prior to enjoying this very well made BDM. Wonderful balance, soft tannins and a relatively long finish. Went well with meat lasagna and warmed, crusty bread.

Out of the bottle the nose of this wine was muted, revealing hints of cassias, kirsch, lavender and dark fruit. Over the evening the aromas became more apparent with blackberries, and cassias at the forefront with violets dancing in the background. The mouthfeel of this 100% Sangiovese was balanced with fine tannins revealing this wines still has the ability to run for a while longer. This medium to light medium bodied wine was delicate, but not elegant. It held its own against fontina stuffed arancini and linguini alla pescatore with a fair amount of spice courtesy of calabrian chiles. All in all this lighter fare red complemented a not so light Italian meal, and did what good Italian wine can do - MADE IT BETTER!

2 hour decant. I thought the nose was kind of off but no one else did. Described as dark cherry and leather. Flavors were really nice and the finish was long. Everyone really liked this. 92+

“This wine is so #$&@ing good!” ~ my wife. Well put. In a great place, with tons of complexity. Great. (Interestingly, *much* better than a bottle I had a few months ago.)

Beautiful ruby red, good clarity. Decanted only for 30 minutes, however already opened up with fragrant fruit. Blackberry, tobacco, leather comes through. Tannins are very smooth now but still there. Long finish. Drink now or hold for up to 5 more years.

Opened by Mark. Fuller and richer than the 2006 Ciacci Pianrosso which was also opened. Younger and more tannic at this stage as well. Give it time. 91 points.

Vibrant colour. 1 hour plus decant. High toned nose includes orange. Strawberry mille feuille on the palette. Taut, refined, good acidity. Clear Sangiovese character. More Chianti (or classic Brunello?). Lovely, long finish shrouded in fine tannins. It is here in the texture and flavour of the tannins, in addition to the tone on the nose, that I pick up the Sangiovese or Chianti character. What a good wine. Not a big Brunello but best in the big, riedel vinum xl, glass. 13.5%

Great value for what I paid ($20/bottle). Notes of dry earth and leaves, strawberries, iron oxide, and old wood- with a little brett on the finish. Nicely balanced, and the wine still feels very youthful- just nicely integrated. Gotta find more now...
- Garnet color with medium forming legs with a medium/full body - Decanted about an hour before first taste, drank very well with improvement over next hour

No formal note. Beautifully pure red fruit, touch of spice and sourness, completely unforced, focussed and pure. Medium/full bodied, that lovely red fruit again, very fine but still perceptible tannin, vibrant acidity carries a long finish. This is excellent, traditional Brunello. ****1/2.

This is really drinking well. The acid and tannins are in balance, the fruit is still precise and even a bit vivid. Cedar and black tea on the nose. Good finish, carried longer than one might expect by how it feels in the mouth. Really good - several years left but I don't think there is much more than 10% upside.

Loved this wine when I went to the Suckling tasting in NYC several years ago--it was one of my favorites of the evening. Over the last almost 8 years this wine has shown mixed. I think it is perfectly aged right now as it is smooth without any harsh alcohol on the finish. It is smooth with a bit of all spice or cigar box that gives it great balance. I am scoring it slightly lower than other wines I have really enjoyed because, tonight, it just feels like it is bit lighter overall like a Rosso.

staurant stems. Color clear deep purple garnet, nose slight barnyard, wet leaves, vanilla, tobacco, plums and black cherry. Very well balanced and structured. Medium plus acid. This wine still very youthful and not really ready to drink.. This wine could go another 10 or more years.

Dark but translucent ruby color. Floral nose. Red fruit on the palate was slightly under ripe. High, dry tannins. Long finish. Agree with others that it's too young, but I enjoyed it. Very brunello.

Clearly too young to be consumed, but damn tasty!
Nutty notes on the nose, which kinda threw me off. After it opened up it kept its dark berries and meaty scents.
I paired it with a monster filet and even after a 3 hour decant, it stood its ground.
Will buy again.
