Médium deep gold color. Tertiary and metallic, interestingly almost dessert wine, on nose. Dry, medium acidity, palate follows through (short). Medium body. Good balance. Short finish.

Brought this to Wakanui Grill Dining to celebrate a birthday with my university mates. We had grilled octopus, Hokkaido scallops, Red Snapper Carpaccio, spring lamb chop, and grass-fed fillet.
Dark gold in colour with an oily flint on the nose. On the palate the primary fruity notes have faded, leaving behind dried peaches, kamquat, lots of nuts, bell pepper and olives. Dry finish with a lingering aftertaste.
Wine has past its prime. Do drink up soon.

Monthly Tasting Group EEE #049; Bordeaux: Pessac-Léognan. (@ My place): In the bouquet yellow tropical fruits, vanilla, some nuts and smoky flavors. On the palate some glycerin, yellow fruits, nectarine, pineapple, honey, a touch of sweetness, good citrus and some vanilla in the finish. Really good and still youthful wine.

Showing some age with the tannish gold. Green vegatables on the nose with a bit of citrus. Thin and watery at first( made worse if too cold) but filling out a bit in the midpalate. Glue, pepper, asparagus, and olive oil. Turns harsh and astringent on the finish. Interesting, but not something to repeat.

Expressive fresh bouquet. Not an overdose of oak. Almost a bit of a sweet start, later good citrus acidity. Ripe fruits. The acidity is perfect in this wine.

Les Blancs de Pessac-Léognan @ my place (Netherlands): Again, as a descendant from this atypical vintage, very thick, ripe and oily. In comparison with the SHL this is more bright, pure and fresh. A bit sharper, too. But equally enjoyable and classy. 17,5/20

Mid to deep honeyed colour. Nose was a pungent and complex mix of butter, honeyed fruit, melons with some citrus notes. In the mouth great mix of flint, minerals, deep fruit - quite full and rich. Complex butter notes coming through on the finish with a tang of minerals. Lacking a little acidity which would have given it some freshness. Otherwise, excellent.

Pre-Chinese New Year gathering with friends (Extra Space, Singapore): The scores for this wine on CT seem a little harsh. Served blind, we all picked it up as a Bordeaux blend, and a very decent one at that. Golden yellow colour, nose showed dried apricots, olives, musk and breadfruit - very Semillion, and rather aged Semillion at that. I found this even more so on the palate, which had toasty oak and roasted nuts, an oily texture and some underlying yellow fruit. A touch of alcohol at the end somewhat marred the wine's performance, otherwise pretty nice - with an oaky, toasty finish that showed a small seam of mineral. Acid was a bit low, which should have led us to guess a hot year, but no one got 2003, seeing that the wine seemed very developed indeed, with the Semillion overshadowing the Sauv Blanc.

Nose OK, a little reticent just now. Everything seems decent about this wine, but there is a distinct "watery" feeling to it. Dilution of the taste, a lack of acidity make me wonder about its longevity. Not "Grand Cru"stuff.

Dry. Not a lot of flavor. Really boring. What happened here? Nothing overtly flawed with the wine. Hopefully, just a bad bottle.

LO Crown Contrast Tasting. Light straw colour. Buttery, fresh, some burned oak. Very full mouthfeel. At peak. Like it as a good value Bordeaux white.

Slightly better rating then last time, due to a little more balance in the wine.
