From magnum and enjoyed all fresco with a wonderful meal. Perfect for the occasion and deliciously refreshing with bright lemon acidity, crushed sea shells, tart orchard fruit, and subtle earthen spice. Light to medium bodied but gaining weight since our last bottle. Will continue to improve in the cellar.

12.0% - Clear, light lemon / clean, med to light intensity - cucumber, honeydew, very mineral, wet pebble rocks, hint of spice (clove) as it gets closer to room temperature / dry, med to low acidity, med- body, med to light intensity, but with a persistent, saline, clean and fresh finish, all in balance. Nicely paired with a dungeness crab salad, strawberries, cucumbers and avocado, but remained a pleasure on its own.

Good acid structure as expected from this style. The thing keeping this back from Very Good to me was I could not sense any flavors from the lees. I was expecting even a slight hint of it, but could not be found.

Enjoyed with a simple dinner of Pasta Cabonara & vegetables and roasted salmon. Transparent yellow gold. Bright and lively aromatics showing limes and cut grass. Light to medium bodied, this enters with some tart citrus fruit, but quickly gives way to rocky mineral notes across the mid palate. A hint of fruitiness brings a smoothness to the finish, but the dryness is not to be denied. Clean and refreshing. It played off the generous amounts of black pepper on our pasta in a fun and interesting way. Love this.

Popped and poured. Lovely aromas of apple and lime, with a faint grassy/parsley component. Full, rich flavors of lemon, minerals. Earthy and piny notes in the acid tinged, prickly, lingering finish. This is pure pleasure from beginning to end. Fairly open by Muscadet standards, but there's still plenty of the bracing acidity one looks for in Muscadet. I almost feel guilty paying this little for a wine of such outstanding quality. Almost.

The nose is a bit restrained, but nevertheless shows delightful waxy lemon, peach, sea breeze, pine, and pie crust. The palate opens with fresh lemon and crisp green apple, later mingling with mid-palate notes of honeydew and saline minerality. These continue to extend through the long finish of crushed sea shell, damp slate, and tart lemon/lime. This has a fantastic mouthfeel with gorgeous minerality and acidity. This wine shows outrageous quality for its price, and while exceedingly enjoyable now, will improve with age. R&M 90+

Less granite, rocky acidity than past vintages. Enjoyable, somewhat floral, jarringly fruity. Might just be a case of upset expectations, maybe just not as fresh as it was, glad to have had this tonight, hope the next bottle from this producer returns to form.

Drunk out of my cellar (57 F). Discombobulated for about 10 minutes. Then it became very good - good acidity with more body than a sauv blanc. It makes me think of the ocean. It probably will be better day 2.

-- popped and poured -- -- tasted non-blind over a few hours --
NOSE: “green” aromas reminiscent of a very dry Sauv. Blanc from Sancerre; moderately intense minerality; quite ashy; hints of smoke, petrol, and apple.
BODY: attractive, luminescent pale yellow color; light to medium-light bodied.
TASTE: lots of mineral; steely; lime; hints of pear and powder; fresh and clean; no oak flavor; acid is very noticeable, but is not tart; long finish of medium to medium-strong intensity; 12% alc. not noticeable; very dry --- this wine *begs* for sushi; perhaps a bit more thin than I’d prefer, but that’s a mere nit; this wine is more about its acid/mineral/freshness than it is the fruit. Excellent wine; ridiculous QPR.

Shifts from savory olive brine to earthiness, all in a classic Muscadet palette. A good friend had mentioned he was unimpressed with this bottling in this vintage only a few months back, but this is showing lovely now; maybe it has turned a corner. A pleasant surprise. Sure, it's no Granite de Clisson, but it's working quite nicely tonight! Like briny, uppity dirt. In a good way. Gets black licorice-y with air.

Summertime Weekend; 6/2/2012-6/3/2012: This has to be one of the best bargain whites I've had all year. Lovely nose of lemon, lime, oyster shell and just a hint of herb, like sage. The palate shows that sur lie creaminess, but also lipsmacking acid and racy minerals. Flavors of lemon meringue, white flowers and limestone abound. Long finish. This went really well with lemon rosemary chicken.

My first Muscadet and I will definitely be trying more! It was a warm evening and this provided just the right refreshment. It's the kind of wine that I was too busy drinking and enjoying to try to take detailed notes on, so they simply say, "This makes me happy! Want another bottle."
WSET Intermediate Course (San Francisco): clear pale lemon-green; clean medium intensity, flower blossom, slight toasty, fruits- lime/citrus juice, green fruit; dry, high acidity, low tannin, citrus fruit, medium length. Good.

Strong sense of wet concrete with subtle fresh cut lemon aromas. More fruit that I expected though still on the lighter side. Strong mineral presence with sweet lemon flavors. I really like this wine. Light and clear in color with some spritz when opened. On the nose you get a mild yeasty aroma, with crushed sea shells, and a bit a lemon. The palate demonstrates great lively acidity, with mineral (stone, sea shells), lemon, brioche. Almost like a Champagne that didn't go through 2nd fermentation. Was really good with sea food and would be good as a pre-meal drink to get the palate going.

Pale. Stone dust, white flowers and lemon. Just a half notch more weight than your average Muscadet but still essentially light. Nothing fat or creamy here. Dry, dry, dry with a pleasing bitter bite at the end to accompany a powerful wave of rockiness on the finish. How can such a small, limpid wine pack so much of a punch?

This is quite pleasant to sip on a hot day and is a perfectly correct/typical muscadet, with lemony fruit and plenty of seashell and acid. But it lacks the depth and oomph of the Briords, and since the Briords typically costs only about $3 more, I see no reason to buy this.

(Tank sample) Crunchy feel with the fruit seeming very reserved or low in concentration. Will be bottled in one month.
