Boxing day at NY Verden: Didn't enjoy this, guessed Tuscan with a Cabernet Franc. A weird showing where the fruit is a dull and plummy, but yet a little green. Tannins have dried out.

Not ready yet. Needs 7-10 more years to fully develop. Opened 24 hrs prior and then decanted 2hrs before drinking. Still very closed, muted berry flavors, not much nose. Medium finish. I think it might be in-between primary and secondary flavors now. Will wait a long while before opening another.

Similar notes as last time, but I must admit that the wine is MUCH closer to resolve at this point, giving off the clarity I expected to see in 5 years, only 14 months later. I also found a LOT more fresh violets and vanilla on the nose this time around, but still a very underrated barolo.

Let sit on christmas eve for 2 hours in the decanter. Sampling at that point was not beneficial. After 2 more hours, the wine had finally loosened up, but I think that speaks to the potency of the vintage, and that it really does need another 5 years in the cellar. I am also very confident that my rating will go up once it does age.
All that said, after 4 hours it drank wonderfully. Dark sweet cherry, chocolate, espresso and mint are all expressed vividly. Each sip of the wine leaves you quenching another. I hate that I have to wait 5 years to taste this again, but I assure the 10 other people have actually have this bottle that it is worth it. (or decant the craaapppp out of it)

Still drinking well after one hour + of air (no need to decant). Classic barolo, medium body, great balance

Robert Parker Piedmont MasterClass (Singapore): Minty, flora clean with panda like finish. Very classic Barolo with silly tannins.

Robert Parker Grand World Tour, Piedmont Masterclass (Singapore): A traditionalist. Dark garnet. Reductive nose of tar, mint and some leather, closed. On the palate old school tannic and tight, medium length. How much more time does this one need?
