Still showing a youthful and vibrant color. Spiced, cinnamon, and red fruit aromas; medium body with good acidity, dark cherry fruit, mint/herbal flavors. Oak is nowhere to be seen or tasted. Thanks to Mrs. SD-Wineaux.

Opened this bottle a few weeks ago; sat in the fridge looking lonely. Finally warmed it up a bit and reveled in The Moment....STUNNING!! Perfect floral, juicy ruby red aged to perfection. You just can’t compare it to anything else! It’s like Ole Joe Heitz created something to be treasured for infinity. YEP it’s that perfect.

In beautiful shape for a 20+ year Napa cab displaying the legitimacy of the producer and the region. Depth of character with tannins very present and fully integrated. Licorice, tobacco and leather. Rich fruit in the background.

INCREDIBLE floral aroma that continues to fill the table wafting from the glasses. Perfectly aged CAB that is so smooth that you will drink every last drop and wonder if it will really take another 24 years to find nirvana.

Perhaps a few days over the hill, but with a well aged, funky ribeye it pairs relatively seamlessly. The color is dark and brooding with diesel fuel and VERY wild, over ripe blackberries streaming in. After dinner I desired a glass of Riesling to cleanse the palate.

Definitely luscious and juicy but perhaps a bit astringent. I love Heitz. With time in the glass, it's 24 years of CAB aging became more fully expressed with blackberry and currant favors. A solid beautiful wine.

Medium garnet-red color. A slightly fusty nose, with wet paper, cherry, mint and fresh cow's milk. On arrival, elevated acidity; initially low tannin turning firmer with an hour's time. Flavor favors cherry and much spice from American oak. Drinkable, and in this setting very acceptable with un-sauced Memphis barbecue. Bottle #4 of four.

Lacked the character expected for a Napa cab, almost thin (for a cab). Nice color, quite a bit of deposit, still drinkable, but not very enjoyable. Drink 3 years ago :) [Note: received as a gift, uncertain about how it was stored. your mileage may vary]

Bottle direct from the winery. This is in a great place right now, with a wide open nose of dark berries, eucalyptus, and earth. The palate still is fairly structured, but the tannins do not obscure the medium-bodied, concentrated dark berry fruit. Quite a nice Cab.

Sharp, mid-dark brick/garnet, amber edges; tobacco, cedar, older Napa Cabernet nose; balanced; mid-body; good fruit and tannins in place; nice style; long finish. A few years left.

Elegant, drinkable & persistent Cabernet. There's still quite a lot of fruit, and the tannin still provides an ample framework. Very fine, and a reminder of the quality that Heitz brings to even their regular Cabernet.

WWAG (Baldy's Cave): Just a hint of age in the glass. Old world style, earth, smoke on the palate. Tannins and oak resolved, deep fruit finish, way back. Strawberries, cherries, leather, yum. What a treat to get to taste this. Great style, very old world craft in style. Drink up and for 5+ years.

This bottle was past its peak, but still an enjoyable wine. Nose had a little funk going on. At first, wine seemed a little thin, but improved as the meal progressed. More earthy than I would have anticipated, but still had a bit of that eucalyptus that I anticipated

Bottle still holding up very nicely. Little earthiness on the nose in the first 15 minutes but it opened up right after that with a sour cherry and cedar box. A little thin on the mouth feel and all the fruit was up front, didn’t really carry all the way to the finish, but some tannins were still present. Had the bottle over 4 hours and there was no wear off during the last glass.

I disagree with the earlier reviews -- our bottle had excellent structure, finesse, fine tannins, with delicious dark cherry, berry, smoke and tobacco flavors. Excellent bottle!

Probably a little past it's prime, but still very good. Powerful body and tannin structure still remaining...but receeding fruit and in somewhat of an awkward state. I had to let to brett blow off for 2 hours as well, but well worth the wait.

Wonderful showing. Fully mature but not tired. Forest floor underscores a pure cabernet expression.

Stunningly perfect floral aroma that blossomed with an hour decant. Heitz always delivers beautifully aged CAB. Lucious robust almost juicy, slight astringent. Enjoyable!
