Fully mature Barolo, drinking nicely at this time. Fragrant nose of cherry and tar. Tastes fruity with plenty of cherry, leather, and well integrated oak. Full bodied and smooth with very fine tannins. Quite enjoyable.

Pnp with Jason. The first thing one notices is wood. Lots of wood. There's some fruit hiding behind the wood and tannin. It smoothed out quite a bit over time and was very enjoyable but I'm going to wait at least 5 years on the next one.

Way to Alcoholic at 15%. Overwhelmed an otherwise excellent wine. Perfect with spaghetti bolognese if wine consumed in small sips. Nice dark red. Nose of cherries and ethanol, with some tobacco accents. Palate is hot going down (served at 57 degrees. ) but smooth. No tannic bite. Rich and flavorful in that tar and cherry way, but way too much ethanol!

Holidays 2017: Seemed closed to me (or over the hill?), which was a disappointment because I’ve loved this wine in other vintages. Tar and menthol overwhelming any fruitier, riper elements.

Good QPR Powerful Nebbiolo nose, leather, spice, earthy, woody and typical Barolo. Medium mouth feel and not a ton of extraction or power. easy to drink and wonderful with mushroom Rotolo and Veal Parmesiana. My last bottle and very enjoyable but not a top quality Barolo by any stretch. It also didn't have the top Barolo price so there's that.

Decanted two hours. Still alcohol on the nose. Flavor still extracted and tannins still present. Nice floral flavors with medium mouthfeel. This wine needs food and was paired with pork belly. Good but not great.

Aged well. Served with Spaghetti & Meatballs. The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. The body is medium/full.

Quite enjoyable Barolo from the Ginestra area in Monforte from a Magnum.
Bouquet with some violets, umami, salty notes and darker berries.
Medium to full bodied with tannins that are slowly mellowing down. I guess it will be at this level for another decade.

Drank after 2 hours in the decanter. Really liked this strong cherry flavored Barolo with good muscle, tension and lively finish. Very silky.

Italian Wines @ Iron Gate (Iron Gate - Washington, DC): A juicy and silkier version than the 2010, very open and opulent, but not a ton of depth.

Enjoyed this with a meal at Cinghiale. Paired well with both duck and grouper.
