Level into the neck. Decanted 20 minutes. Plenty of sediment. Barely any bricking. Black fruits, plum, oak spice, mint. Tannins are tucked in to the velvety, mid-weighted palate. Good showing.

Surprisingly youthful colour. Still some primary varietal to the nose, so youthful again, plus spice, plums, camphor and pepper. Real fireworks on the palate, with a suave, velvety mouthfeel, soft mouth coating tannins, more black plums, cedar and a long, heavily oak-influenced Syrah finish. Maybe a touch too rich, with slight jammy fruit upsetting the balance, but the abundant fruit has swallowed the oak. The cork was rubbish but the wine is delicious and screaming for protein. Drink now or soon based on the cork, not the wine. 18

Bought from the secondary market. Cork remarkably intact and removed in one piece. Opened two hours early and decanted. At the time of decant, closed and tasted like a three year old acidic Shiraz. After a few hours it softened and the balance improved. Still full of fruit, but soft tannins and good balance. Great length. A lovely wine.

Red and dark fruits, prune, leather. Medium-plus bodied, attractive red and dark fruits and prunes flavours, rich flavour without excessive weight, fine grippy tannins, good length. In a lovely spot now, no rush to drink. In my memory bank, seems similar to older Wynns JRs that I've had (eg. 1991) - will have to taste side by side one day.

Clear. Very noticeable rim and bricking as you would expect from a wine of this age, but still deep garnet in colour and opaque. full bodied, oak and tannins perfectly integrated with a medium plus length. Eucalyptus, mint and a hint of black fruits - textbook Aussie shiraz.
Love this stuff.

Still a lovely wine at age 26! Plentiful fruit, tannins completely integrated and nice texture. Will drink our remaining couple soon ....not long to go I think.

Decanted. Initially aromas of red over blackberry. Sweet spice, a little menthol and mint note. Juicy in the mouth, blackberry spicy, mint and menthol, fresh and fruity, talc textured tannins. With time cream and vanilla, the blackberry gets more compote and the fruit more generous on the palate as well with a little chocolate but also that mint note and a red berry underpin. Okay.

Double decanted in the AM for sediment, then drunk over several hours.
On the nose, at first there is dill and vanilla,a but it becomes less upfront. It's meaty and savory, but with fruit and subtle florals: dark berries, herbs and violets. Great texture and depth without any heaviness. On the palate, it's savory, with olive, a little menthol, and white pepper that add to the meatiness and dark berry fruit. Quite long on the back end and still with tannic structure. A beautiful, classically made Shiraz. For me, this is still on the ascent and I suspect may come together even more in time.

Mrs H (a New World shiraz-phile) liked this much more than me. Probably nearing the end of its drinking window. I've never really taken to this vintage of Michael - perhaps it's just a bit lacking all-round.

This is a 21 year old wine ... would not have picked it in a blind tasting.
Bright red colour with hints of dark purple. Nose was dark fruits and mint. Developed cigar box and smoke characteristics. Palate was dark fruits, slight sweetness from the oak with very fine tannins.
The wine seemed very fresh - I did buy it and have stored it well since release.

Cork in excellent condition, little coarse sediment, an easy decant. Waited an hour for the vegetal taint to blow off. Nose of tobacco, dark fruit and spice. Medium body. Less fruit than 10 years ago but still pleasant. Medium, clesn finish.

Does what it says once tin - classic Aussie Shiraz with eucalypt/menthol still noticeable, fading fruit as you'd expect for a wine this old. Very, very drinkable.

Colour: purple Nose: Savoury blackcurrant, spice; cinnamon. leather, toasted oak, vanilla and a tiny amount of eucalyptus Mouth: Sour black fruit, tongue coating medium minus tannin, medium acid and alcohol. The medium long finish is spicy with vanilla tones.

Drunk at a different table so did not personally get a taste but the reports indicated that the wine was past its best but still a lovely drop that was much enjoyed. Our last bottle.

Bought a case of this forever ago, and haven't visited this in years. Still deep in color. A beautiful nose of black olives, meat broth, dill, and savory herbs. A lot of umami going on here. On the palate, this was supple, deep, full bodied and rich without any unneeded weight. Excellent balance and beautiful palate presence, with a great blend of savory, fruit, meat, acid, and tannins. This is flat out beautiful wine at peak and in no risk of going downhill soon. Great old school Oz. A complete wine that was better on day three than day one. 94pts

Beautiful nose of ripe dark fruit. Lovely soft blackberry and mild oak flavour with a plush mid-palate of blackcurrants. Finish is of slightly above average length with a beautiful fade to a mild lingering, leathery sweetness. Still a streak of acidity that suggests it might go another year or two, but this wine is at its peak. Drink now.

On the nose blackcurrant, ripe cheese, leather and licorice. On the palate dark fruits, oak and grape tannin. Absolutely wonderful. Still has the ability to age for a few more years. Pity this is the last bottle.

Still big, dark, and brooding. I had an image of an infantryman putting his head above the parapet, then quickly ducking back out of sight. A little acidic when first opened, after an hour or two that disappeared and there was intense fruit and still a little oak. No mint/eucalyptus. Worth holding for a few years, or at least giving a good couple of hours + of decanting. Very enjoyable, but hold for now.

NobleRottersSydney - Tucker Seabrook (Darling Mills, Glebe): Welcome to the oakfest. Coonawarra tries bigger is better. There are blackcurranty fruits buried under the timber somewhere, but really it’s so completely over-the-top with coconut, vanilla, and most of all, swingeing tannins. Can a wine like this ever come into balance? (note added in 2010 – No…)
