This took a while to come together: at first it showed some oak and the palate seemed unbalanced and not well integrated. But after several hours the oak dissipated and all the components blended into a seamless and lovely, firm and mineral wine. For some the red of the evening (but only at the end of it).

Beautiful nose of black cherry and smoky minerals. Really delicious ripe black cherry fruit accompanied by vibrant, fresh acidity giving the wine a mouth-watering juiciness. Quite rich and intense but also structured and refined with a strong mineral content that shows up on the complex finish which also has great floral lift. This is gorgeous to drink now but has the balance and stuffing to grow even more complex over the next few years. I really like the way this wine ages. 93+

Enjoyable wine. Plenty of dark dense fruit. Brooding. Tough tannin, hugely chewy. Lovely freshness/lift thru the palate. Needs some air time to really open it up.

Interesting nose of iodine, dark berries and mineral spice. Needs a bit of time to open and then shows rich dark cherry medicinal fruit combined with good acidity and freshness. Finishes with good intensity and a unique mineral flavor. A fairly structured version of this wine that still needs a few years for the complexity to blossom. 92+

Started to show well, and this was the last bottle. Isn't that always the way? This is short term, doubt it would make old bones. Drink or hold to 2020

A Delicious smell of flowers and vanilla. Light body, discreet tanins, lively acidity. Long finish with a small ammoun of bitter. Notes of Wood, red fruits, and some stone/Chalk. Paired very well with a tomato and cheese tartine appetizer and then with a main dish of Pork. I'd did remind me a bit of a Barbera D'alba, although more floral and fruity.

A bit of time in the cellar and more of the structure and minerality has come out to offset the very ripe fruit in this vintage. It is drinking nicely now with smoky dark cherry fruit and the classic and unique mineral flavors that make this wine so compelling. Delicious and a great match for Puttanesca sauce. 91+

Cork was in acceptable condition. Popped and poured. brilliant ruby N: oak, fresh strawberry, something floral. Summery. P: Cherry, herbal, sweet/savoury finish was perfect with Lebanese mixed grill. Still has some grip, will fare better in 5+ years. Unexpectedly good wine Drink or hold to 2022. 13.5% abv

Great nose with a mix of dried plums, slightly red currant a bit of leather & mushrooms, underlaid with a certain sweetness. A hint of heat on the palate but its soften out with a little more time. Great acid, wonderful integrated tannins & oak which gives the wine more structure without overperforming the fruit. Great backbone & super elegant finish. Still plenty of time ahead. I'm really impressed.

Popped and poured and followed over 4 days. Garnet red of medium depth, clear. Nose: red berries, cherry, but rather sour and with a herbal touch - the latter is stronger at the beginning and slowly fades away. Also a dusty sweet note (at the beginning smelled like vanilla from oak). On day two and three a bit of fresh paint smell. Kept changing somewhat and was not always pleasant, although at times it was. On the palate it's been a long fight between acidity and fruit/body. Fine-grained tannins also contribute to the structure. At times it was in perfect balance, at times just a bit too tart. The finish is on blood oranges and leaves a fine aftertaste. Quite fine overall, but I think this hasn't settled yet. It has fine components which hopefully will find a good balance in time. No question that it is a lively wine! ***

Retailer tasting: Juicy, good cherries and acidity. Ripe fruits. Some autumn impressions and spiciness as well. A touch of sweetness and a bit drying in the finish. An ok wine with some complexity.

I thought this was outstanding wine. Serene. Couldn't quite wrap my head all the way around it. Which I guess means it is both really complex and really intriguing. Whew.

Drank it yesterday. Garnet colour (Get it?! Granato? Garnet?...) "Secretive" nose with hints of oak, dark fruit, mineral and some tarry-like touches. Well balanced in the mouth, nice acidity, powerful tannins and a long finish. Why the "lower" score then? Well, after a while the wine lost nearly all its aroma's and became unbalanced in the mouth with a pronounced acidity. Our last glasses were simply sour. Strange. Did anyone else experience the same?

Retailer tasting: In the bouquet a firm dose of barnyard and earthy impressions. In the mouth still very primary juicy fruits, some metal and also earthiness and drying tannin. The wine is much too young and everything still has to integrate. Hope the brettiness will not dominate at a later stage. Waiting until 2016 might be wise. 88+ by then??? No "official" score.
