A surprise bump up on this bottle. Nose is quite beautiful with classic tar and floral notes. Palate has plenty of mellow nebbiolo fruit and moderate acid, with a soft tannin hit at the end.

More open than 30 months ago, relaxing, with some tertiary notes on opening; still noticeably alcoholic (14%) but not offensively so. Prunes are fading into something more floral. Color now showing age at the rim. Prediction: will peak in 2 years and decline soon after; drink now-2023.

Has not fulfilled its promise noted in January 2016. Alcoholic, with prunes setting in. Cribbed on nose and palate, short on the finish. Unpleasant alone; needs food in the range of veal, pasta, parmigiano, butter, olive oil, herbs.

A pleasant enough barolo, with a good nose with some floral and mineral quality. Palate is medium bodied with dark fruit, some earthiness, and pleasing tannins that carry on for a bit.

Very reserved. I think 2006 must be a very tannic vintage, as this had the same amount of tannin as the Produttori dB from 2006. There is something underneath, but needs another 5-10 years to find it.

PnP Second bottle, better than the last. It has developed some nebbiolo characeristics, a bit of underbrush and some floral on the nose. Still nothing to wow but I was pleasantly surprised given my last bottle was just, "there."

It was there. Nothing wrong with it, but no real magic either. What I can say is there was no sense of heat or green, so I had that going for me. Red fruits, some oak, nothing terribly out of place.

Might rise to a 90, but that's about it. My notes from 2018 still pertain, not much has changed since then. Pleasing but not outstanding.
