Monthly Tasting Group: Spain (Rincon 38, Mpls, MN): Very dark red/purple color. Drank a small glass over 30 minutes. Same bottle as Bellissimo. I agree with Matt's evauation. This is modern for sure with bold ripe dark fruit, a bit muted on the nose. Calls for some roasted meat.

Brought to an offline. Sat opened for 2+ hours before we got around to this; brought a little home for later; note from then. Bottle can be used as a defensive weapon! I'd hate to pay for shipping on these. Black fruit dense but integrated, has that coffee/mocha flavor going for it. Modern but not extracted and no noticeable vanilla. Interesting discussion at our table if this used French oak which we guessed it did. Similar to a Clio though less of a cocktail wine than that.

Great flavor with excellent terrior. It had a bit of smoke, some really dark berry and some very delicious grit at the finish. More flavor than color, always a good sign.

Dense and rich, like liquified junior mints, this is drinking beautifully right out of the bottle. Maybe a bit heavy handed, but in a good and generous way. This may be among the most opaque wines I've ever seen. Very new world in its approach, yet with a haunting minerality that's as old as the Spanish hills. I was surprised to see Parker's sub 90 score- I'd think this was right up his alley.

Disappointing. I have had this before and really enjoyed it. Today, it was missing the fruit and tasted of oak...lacking balance. Decanted for 2+ hours and served at proper temperature. Even when paired with beef roast it was just too much oak.

Beautiful bouquet with dark and red forest fruits, chocolate, herbs and spices etc. On the palate beautiful fruits and herbs and sweet spices as well, ripe dark fruits, a beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness and good and round tannin. Great wine.
