Has this as part of a WA State Blend night with my wine group. Opened but not decanted for over 45 minutes before pouring. A nice Merlot dominated wine. I'm not sure how much longer it will last. This was actually mixed in with a few 2009s that I had purchased.

Estate grown, dark opaque color, plumy-graphite nose, complex blended palate of plum, dark fruit, earth, well balanced, full body, integrated tannins, smooth texture, long finish, 14.4% alc. DECANT 1-2 hours, improved second night. Has life ahead for at least 3- 5 years.

PnP, double decant for 1 hour. Clear, deep red/purple. Big wonderful nose. Med-full body, perfect drinking window with ideal balance and integration. Tannin's resolved, long finish. Always like this label and again didn't disappoint. Delicious and easy drinking. Nothing off. $39

Nine years since bottling, smooth, mellow and satisfying. Drinking this reminded of a Dick Francis novel about a fictional character who bought great wines from outstanding vintages and uncorked them to enjoy, much to the horror of critics who considered such wines sacrosanct, as if enjoying them wasn't the point. Uriah is why I drink wine. Solid testament to the high quality of wine produced in Walla Walla, Washington which happens to be a really neat town. Visit Walla Walla. Visit Spring Valley Vineyards, or just buy their wine. Keep up the good work! Big fan!

Improved from the last time I had it. More integrated and balanced. Be sure to give this one about an hour to open up as there was some funk on the nose at the beginning that eventually blew off as the wine really opened up. Much better on night two.

Cherry, tobacco, thyme with a hint of pencil lead on the mid-palate. The tannins are resolved so the finish is more about the fruit and acid than tannins.

Last of two bottles purchased and still hitting on all cylinders. Holding up beautifully for a wine from a cool vintage. This wine doesn't disappoint in the least. Paired very well with house made "Bucatini all’Amatriciana"

Decanted and tasted single blind. I found this to be a graceful, lighter Uriah with a redder fruit profile and interesting spice box notes. Not easily identified.

1st of two bottles picked up several years ago. Wow, red berry, dark cherries, mint, mocha fine tannins that sail on forever and a finish that just won't quit. Fantastic bottle of wine.

CT Seattle Merlot and Merlot blend Tasting (Amoroso Room, Bellevue Wine Storage): Dark garnet in the glass. Alcohol, bramble, and chocolate on the nose. Quite acidic in the mouth, with simple generic fruit blend dominating. Then the acids dominate the finish. Overall impression was of a simple wine. Tasted single blind at CT SEA merlot and merlot blend tasting. My eighth of nine, group's ninth of nine by a lot (it lost to a flawed wine!). The person who brought this was vocally adamant that they hated the wine, and were quite surprised to see it was the wine they brought upon reveal.
Always enjoy drinking SVV wine-- truly reliable. This Uriah is aging nicely. Dark ruby hue, smoky, deep dark berries, spice, clove, and a twinge of almond/vanilla (a little bit of everything). Drinks nicely, smoothes out as it breathes. Agree with others-- very consistent wine…vintage after vintage.

This wine is very consistent from vintage to vintage. Very fruit forward, great nose, smooth mouth feel and a nice finish. Nothing to complain about here.

after 1 hour decant, nice aroma but still seems a little tight. after 4hr decent starting to open up. Like Frederick, Spring Valley wines seem to take 4 hours minimum in decanter to start to show their stuff. This one still heavy on oak and barrel. Still was good into 3rd day in decanter. My thoughts now are won't open next bottle until 2017 to try with over 4 hours air or even just 2nd day.

Fruit-forward and heavy on the oak. Smooth mouth feel, but distinctively absent on the mid palate. Half-bottle saved under cork and re-tasted on day 2; same aromatic profile, fuller palate, more prominent tannins.

Mostly barrel driven now with pretty mint/eucalyptus, toast, chocolate dust and chalk followed by cherry and some darker berries, loam and a touch of the Spring Valley hay. Needs more time in the cellar but enjoyable now if you enjoy heavy barrel notes.

solid wine with hearty, medium bodied structure...herbal notes amidst a light cherry, but overall I was a little disappointed as my expectations were higher....thought the wine was lacking a little bit of character and complexity, so overall it was less interesting.

The nose was classic Uriah. Big crushed concentrated blackberry. The palate was a little tight but still pretty tasty. I think this wine is young and/or needs more than the 30 min decant I gave it. Lots of potential.

This Bordeaux-style blend from Washington is mostly Merlot and Cab Franc with some Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec to round out the offering. A nice balance of red and black fruit dusted with smokey chocolate and a bit of spice. The tannins are subtle and there is a bit of astringency on the finish (presumably from the Cab Franc). This should improve with a few years in the cellar.

This may be the most expressive Uriah I have tasted. It is the most complex on the front and most vibrant on the finish that I remember. We hold each vintage going back to 2002.
Dark ruby colored, full bodied, complex layers of tight spicy red currant and black raspberry fruits are accented by spicy clove, hints of smoky anise turning to a big mouthful of subtle cinnamon and hint of mocha on a big floral tongue tingling smooth dusty tannins.
thanksgiving. had only a taste, moderate nose mixed fruit/mineral , moderate + tannins; will be good and probably at this age needs air time before. Very solid wine, looking forward to my future bottles. Better notes in future on this one.

Worthy of the accolades! Very aromatic, thick/textured, smooth tannins, fruit forward with much complexity. Wonderful now, but will improve with age. Highly recommended
