Now developing mature, savoury flavours, but still fresh and with good acidity; the mid-palate is lively and it has good length; quite elegant but perhaps a touch lean. Good for a village wine.

This has medium weight, mature fruit, savoury notes and a dryish finish. This is good now, but may still open up further over the next year or two. A very good village wine.

This has a fairly mature colour and full, slightly cooked cherry/damson fruit; medium to full and with good length. This seems ready now but should keep well. It is not quite up to the level of the 2005, but is still a very good village wine.

This is now almost ready: another year or two should bring it to its plateau. The fruit is quite intense and the finish is long. It should keep for up to 10 years.

A bright colour, medium depth; fresh, pure, elegant, perfumed fruit, raspberry/redcurrant, perhaps a little light in weight but nicely rounded. Still quite young and should improve.

Translucent garnet robe. Through the nose and the palate this is young-tasting and purely composed of bright, red berry flavors accented by woody notes. Lighter-bodied but balanced, with the high acidity characteristic of this vintage. There's nothing "vieille" about this; it comes across as quite youthful, though lacking the concentration and intensity I normally associate with Gevrey-Chambertin. Paid a shocking price for this off a restaurant wine list, which is probably impacting my assessment. If you must drink this now, it would be best with some hearty food.

Bright acidity and very savory. Fruit is focused ....tiny framboise. Very good balance concentrated fruit acidity oak. Structured tannins. Oak is indeed evident. So best to have in a few years for all to meld together

Super clean fruit and well composed. I'd wait 3 years before having another bottle to develop some more earth. I was in the mood for something a little more grungy.

Starts with lots of black fruit, subtle floral notes and then showcases great textures from middle to finish. Very elegantly styled Gevrey with concentration I'd normally expect from 1er Cru. Another 2010 tasting great already today.

Fine Vines Fall 2015 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Very good black cherry, spice and braised meat throughout. Very good concentration for Villages level with good structure and balance. Give this a few more years in the cellar.

La Paulée de San Francisco - The Verticals (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Spice-driven aromatic start with black cherry and berries. Same on palate with great density and power for Villages that really showcases both Gevrey and old vines nicely. Will benefit from a few more years to soften a little more. My favorite Favorites of the 10/09/08 vertical.
