(Disgorged in December 2022, base year 2019 with reserves from 2018-2012, 100% Pinot Noir, dosage 6,5 gr/l) Youthful nose with red apples, minerals and some gingerbread. Smoothing red apples acidity on the palate with an intense mid and finish showing a distinct lime zest bitterness. (Probably best with 3-6 years extra cellaring)

Blanc de Noirs made with 100% Pinot Noir from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay, Montagne de Reims. Based on 2012 vintage with older reserve vintages in the cuvée. 18% of the base wine was aged in old oak barrels sourced from Burgundy. Bottled on May 21st, 2014 and aged sur lattes for 5,5 years. Disgorged on October 14th, 2019. 12,5% alcohol, dosage 7,5 g/l. Total production 5375 bottles.
Medium-deep straw yellow color. Rather toasty nose with complex aromas of chopped nuts, some bready autolysis, a little bit of bruised apple, light woody notes of savory oak and a faint red-toned hint of cherry or ripe raspberry. The wine is rich, broad and moderately toasty on the palate with flavors of bruised apple, some autolytic notes of toasted bread and slivered almonds, a little bit of marzipan, light chalky mineral tones, a sweeter hint of ripe Golden Delicious apple that gets boosted by the richness from the dosage and a touch of savory wood spice. The mousse feels soft and persistent, the acidity quite high and very balanced. The finish is long, dry-ish and complex with layered flavors of chalky minerality, some mealy apple tones, a little bit of chopped nuts, light autolytic notes of brioche and yeasty French bread, a hint of bruised apple and a darker-toned touch of cherry.
A harmonious, very balanced and moderately toasty Blanc de Noirs where all the elements seem to fit wonderfully together: autolytic toast and nuttiness, classic BdN notes of bruised apples and cherries, quite bright acidity and a balancing streak of chalky minerality. Although the dosage showed a bit more than I would've wanted it to, this was probably the most "textbook Blanc de Noirs" in our lineup of four different 2012 BdNs. Although I favor freshness and lower dosage, this ultimately turned out to be my favorite because the overall character was closest to what I'd expect in a classic BdN (although only an inch above 2012 Hebrart Noces de Craie). Enjoyable stuff - while drinking mighty well right now, this will continue to improve for years more.

what a lovely wine! Yeasty, brioche toasty notes, with apples, peach, a little red fruits and then a faint hint of almonds. The palate has a little more citrus with lemons, limes, apples. A lovely comforting depth and finish. Delightful and delicious and certainly worth seeking out to try and spoil yourself £49.99 @harrogatewines hurry up as they only have a few bottles left of this stunner. #giveanewwineago 90 points

A sunny Day at the german Outback (South of Hamburg, outback, Lüneburg heath): From 3 Ltr. Jeroboam, bottle number 44 of 50, vin de reserve of 2008, disgorged may 2015, 100% Pinot Noir, very fine mousse, all the way very, very elegant on the midpalte, tnsion with a great fruit flow, tasty raspberry, very young showing, therefore still very taut and dense, better would have waited some more years, especially from big bottles, **(*-****?), 90, 91(+?)

The last bottle really had me worried, but this one was fabulous (it also helps that the boys are gone for the night)! A bit of yeast, lemon, and a curious note of ramen noodle on the nose. Great fizz, acidity, and verve on the palate. This was as close to perfect as I could stand on a Wednesday. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

I have been worried about this as the last couple bottles were a bit tires. This had plenty of bubble and acidity, but also a hint of an old champagne oxidative note, which I really dig. Very Good to Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

Boy, this puppy defies characterization. Almost rosé color in clear glass. Wild strawberry, peach, white flower nose. Toffee, coffee, red fruit, but awash with minerals and beautiful acidity. Long. Different, but very good.

This wine had all the elements that I look for in a Champagne: a yeasty nose, hints of bright fruit, extended finish. The only thing that was missing was a vibrant mousse, making this wine seem a bit tired. Still very good.

Lovely wine, great w food. Paired w poached cod, crushed petit pois, crumbled bacon, hollandaise. Enough body and soul to keep up well! Aromas and taste consistent w previous notes, especially Jennings'. And what a color, the clear bottle and golden juice is a beauty in itself.

Given the dominance of pinot noir, I was sure I would like this. I was right. Certainly a full-bodied champagne and this one has a bit of age to it, it seems. Brioche and biscuits with a coarse backbone (a good thing). VEry long finish. Outstanding. Glad I bought all they had left and at $35, a steal.

Rich golden hue has a wonderfully expressive bouquet of strawberries and tart cherries with mild earthy aromas. The flavors are full-bodied flavors with a delicate structure that only pinot noir can give. The yeasty character of fresh brioche adds further complexity to the cuvée. The fine mousse and crisp acidity keep the intense flavors alive and dancing on your palate. The dry finish is refined and long-lasting.

Quelle surprise ce nez ! Du fromage à pâte molle (reblochon ?) dans une flûte de champagne... un nez étonnamment puissant et pourtant une grande légèreté en bouche, un champagne très fin aux arômes déconcertants.

Exceptionally full and earthy on the nose. Not "clean" like Pierre peters but says it in the wrong way. Rich, weighty palate but focused. Flavor delivers all the way through with the porcini mushroom note harmonizing into a fresh sweet cherry. While I am not a fan of this sort of tertiary experience this is rather good stuff.

Light lemon color with fine bubbles. On the nose, yeast, orange peel, almond and a bit of bread dough. On the palate this is medium bodied and silky with light acidity, and good mid-palate. Nice note of crisp apple on the finish.
