  • Delicious Burg! Pronounced red fruit on the nose: cherries, cranberries, dry leaves, earth, mushrooms, rose petals. Palate is medium body, balanced, red fruit and secondary flavors with fine pixelated spicy tannins. Medium to long finish!

  • Huge improvement in the last 6 years. Explosive nose of tart black cherry and menthol, plus barnyard funk that blew off fairly quickly. The palate featured concentrated black cherry, black liquorice, dried cranberries and some fall forest floor. Drinking beautifully now, but no doubt has years of life ahead of it.

  • cheers - delicious, but still young.....wish we had decanted for 2-3 hours before

  • Drank at Piero's last nite with Whites and Goldsteins. Not one of my fave producers, but grabbed and popped and poured. Very nice fruity bouquet, with whiffs of strawberries and cherries. Some floral and spice notes too. Still slightly tannic. Medium body, still good fruit here--mostly sour cherries, along with some earth, leather and forest floor or barnyard. A bit short, but better than I expected, and all enjoyed at the table.

  • Ruby with a faint pink rim. Off the cork pull, fairly reticent bouquet for a 2005. Tannins are very fine but 90% resolved. After 4 hours bottle breathing, sour cherry, violets, and leather dominate the aromatics along with a gentle whiff of barnyard. The palate is wild strawberries with some nice grip. This might integrate more with a few years. I don't have any previous experience with this vineyard...Usually stick to Boudots for NSG. 2005 has a reputation for being grippy, too. Hard to tell if this is just rustic. Wait two years before the other bottles. Prey for me Pinot gods.

  • Fresh, tangy and nicely concentrated red berries along with spice, minerals and mouthwatering acidity. There are undercurrents of tobacco and earth but it's primarily a well balanced, fruit-driven burgundy. Not enough depth and body to peg it as a NSG, though. Comes across more like a good Beaune or Savigny. A pleasing wine, but not worth the price of admission.

  • tasted non-blind with non-spicy Thai food. Opened about an hour before serving and poured two glasses. Mrs. Grayfont loved it - she described it as silky smooth. I got a little less texture than that - almost watery but not quite. Mouthwatering acidity. Some heat showing; this will be better in a few years time. Interesting flavor profile of bright red fruit & rich blood notes.

  • My first bottle from this producer. Black and red spicy fruit. Structured wine with lots of tannins and a long life a head. It's good.

  • This is perfectly delicious. Red and purple fruit cologne, iron game blood, briary, pure, and a slightly white chalky mineral feel. This has a touch of dog fennel, but the natural sweetness, and other components more than balance the wine. I like this just fine.

  • Tasted at February 11, 2011 Toronto Wine Cru Event, Wine Spectator Off-Line Event. Limited or no notes, as tasted 28 wines. Nose - more acidic. Palette - Fresh pinot but more delicate than others.

  • A classically nice bourgougne with subtle walnuts and pomegranate on the nose. A wonderfully long finish even now...try this with a spicy dish and enjoy it even more. This will age well for the next decade-plus.
