One of the classiest champagnes I have had for a long while. Ever changing in the glass, goes through citrus, to Meursault-esque Burgundian (this is very much a wine), through cream soda and yeast / brioche / touch of sherry some tobacco. With fantastic length. Tremendous.

Unknown disgorgement. Deep yellow, subdued mousse. Striking nose that I can't quite place but some toasty oxidation here. Rich and creamy, good length, but fairly neutral flavors.

Weekend at Bernie's; 2/25/2022-2/27/2022 (Vero Beach): A bit of a surprise and entirely possible that we picked up one of our bonus bottles and brought it to a main event, but so it goes. The upside is I'm pretty sure this had some age on it. It had just a hint of the nutty and slightly carmelized notes. Nothing like the much older ones. But didn't taste like recent release. Enjoyable and esp as the first bubbles on a boat on a hot Feb afternoon it was just delicious.

This blanc de blancs grand cru, dosed at 3g, has no disgorging indication. The cuvée works on the principle of antagonistic vintages, namely here a blend between 2008 and 2009.
The nose is as chalky as it is cereal.
In the mouth, the 2 vintages complement and respond to each other. I was struck by the correctness of the score this wine plays, and the way the different elements balance and merge into a cohesive whole. First, we have the energetic 2008, full of freshness, which traces in the mouth with citrus aromas. Then, in the middle of the palate, a beautiful richness develops where the wine becomes almost vinous, it is the 2009, more sunny, that is at work. The way the juice is layered and how these sensations follow one another in the mouth is astounding. The finish is noble, chalky and lively.
It's excellent.

12.0% abv. Yellow gold color, plenty of micro bubbles, minimal mousse. More oxidative, nutty, brioche style vs citrus. Has nice verve, this is ready to enjoy now. Very enjoyable.

Blend of wines from 2008 and 2009, and it did show some tightness. Lovely packaging, lovely balance, some attractive autolysis on the nose and a chalkiness that did hint at its breeding, but ultimately a bit boring and we found a slightly bitter note on the finish. Greater finesse than most NV, but I'd rather have three bottles of Heidsieck than this for the same money.

Wow. Cepage of 2002 and 2006. Can't find disgorgement date. The wine is excellent. Mature yet fresh and beautiful. Great balance with small dosage, great flow. Finish with no end. Very pleasant weight on the palate, good volume, full palate. Buttery cooked yellow fruit with still lively acidity. Like it only matured without aging.

More Holiday Champagne (Dig Wines and Home, San Francisco): A combination of 2002 and 2006 wine. Clearly made in a nutty, oxidative style. Outstanding creaminess, buttered toast, and depth. Big wine. For those who like the Bollinger/Krug end of the Champagne spectrum. High quality.

Yellow/gold. Brioche nose. This is not about the fruit as a primary element. Rather, full on yeasty, oxidative style with great body and a caressing mouth feel. Also great back end acidity. Like a "baby Krug" if you adore that style.

Pre-Thanksgiving Grower Champagne (Dig Wines, San Francisco): Apparently a blend of 2002 and 2006 fruit. Medium yellow. Brioche/caramel nose. Rich, toasty, toffee tinged. Full bodied, complex and great length. Very much in the Krug, Bollinger, etc. big, oxidative camp. Only downside is that it is not as bright as others in the flight.

Good minerality with a hint of sweetness. Fresh and non-oxidative example with good minerality lurking in the background. A good drink and made in a not too serious style.

A Rich straw colour, with a fabulous mature Chardonnay nose.Nice feel in the mouth but not too oily. Very healthy mousse that stayed throughout the bottle, not totally pincushion bubbles but very small yet vigorous.Powerful flavour with at first an unusual chalky finish, but this integrated as you progressed through the bottle.Quite strong flavour, rather than elegance for mature Chardonnay,I think this is the 1990 influence.Overall a really lovely balance between power, maturity yet still vigorous. 18/20...A big step up since first disgorged /tasted in March 2007

Showing a pronounced Madeira character, it’s bright and dense, but also sort of clunky and overdone. Trying too hard

2002/2006 version with 3g/L, therefore decent bottle age.
Opens up quite tempting with sweet exotic fruit, montrachet/meursault vibes here, pineapple and caramel.
Taste though... very austere, heavy oak bitterness, needs to integrate definitely.
Quite pleasant front and mid until you reach the oak bitter brickwall.
Before the oak kicks in its kind of fresh without any fruit sweetness though.
Only quite some time the aftertaste reveals a bit of fruit on the tongue.
Some cacoa notes...
With time integration gets a bit better.
Works decently with well spiced food though.
Then acidity and oak gives good crunch and balance
A bit fermented apple notes
With more time oak balances out and its tasty and the dosage works (unfortunately, this happens at the end of the bottle).
Definitely not an aperitif. Probably best to open 1-2 days before planned consumption.

Maybe a somewhat defective bottle - frankly a little flat. Still tasty, but notably hard to open and only lightly carbonated.

Big hit to have while the grandkids opened gifts. Very crisp, with a long mineral-tinged finish. Wish I had purchased more than one.
